MADDIE | 6-Yr-Old Overo Paint Mare
Maddie is a beautiful 6 year old Overo pinto mare. Standing at 14.3 hands, this stout built girl has the energy to go all day. With her sweet disposition and soft eye she is eager to please. She has worked cows and been out on multiple trails, encountering water, logs, and ditches. She handles new obstacles like a seasoned horse and is willing to try new things. Maddie has a sensitive feel with a good neck rein and prefers to ride without a bit. She stands quiet for the farrier and has no problems with being hauled in a trailer. This willing responsive mare will be a great addition to your herd.

CALIFORNIA | 6-Yr-Old Tobiano Paint Mare
California came to Colorado Horse Rescue Network when her original rescue closed their doors. She had been under saddle several times before coming into the Equine Comeback Challenge.

LEXI | 8-Yr-Old Bay Pinto Mare
Lexi was part of a seizure case from Parker County in 2016. When she was adopted by Colorado Horse Rescue Network she was in foal. She had been under saddle 1-2 times prior to being entered in the Equine Comeback Challenge.

XENA | 12-Yr-Old American Quarter Horse Grey Mare
Xena is big and athletic mare. She has been trained in cow work, reining, and ranch roping, both live cattle and pull behind dummies. She is very sensible horse that really pays attention to the rider. She will give you a slow lope and a lot of speed if asked for it. She has also spent many hours on the trail. She’s not quite ready for a beginner but very close, she is more suited for an intermediate rider.

SKIPS LAST CHANCE | 7-Yr-Old American Quarter Horse Palomino Gelding
Skips last chance is a 7 year old gelding standing 14.3hh. Skip is an athletic horse, who would match well with a rider who has experience riding reining horses, or reined cow horses. Skip is sensitive and responsive, he’s had 90 days under saddle and is ready to continue training/lessons for a future in reining, penning, or cowhorse. Skip is not a speed prospect, nor is he a kids horse.

MOOSE | 9-Yr-Old Sorrel Gelding
Need a show horse? Here’s a big red sorrel with four white legs and a blaze, with a trot and canter a rocking chair would be proud of! Need a rope or rodeo horse? I am standing up on his back swinging a rope, dragging a barrel around with the rope sliding up and down his legs and hind end! He will push cattle that are moving but does get nervous in a heard. Need an English horse? Big man can clear jumps! Need an all around horse? He’s your man! Standing at 16’2 he’s a big baby, not pushy, just wants one person to love him like he loves you!

MAVERIK | 5-Yr-Old American Quarter Horse Blue Roan Gelding
Maverik is a fantastic blue roan gelding. Very versatile, athletic, smart, willing, lovable and trainable. This horse will take you places with continued training. Maverik has a great start and is ready for the next step in his riding career. Great prospect for versatility ranch, cow events, speed events and much more!

DUTCH | 5-Yr-Old American Quarter Horse Dun Gelding
Dutch would make a great addition to any family. He is a slower natural mover that loves to stop and spin. He catches on to new tasks easily and loves to be loved on! You can leave him alone for a few days and get back on like it was still the last time you rode! This eye catcher will do great in many disciplines!

VIXEN LACE | 3-Yr-Old American Quarter Horse Palomino Mare
Vixen Lace is a friendly 3 year old mare who is full of personality. She is smart, willing, athletic, and aims to please. She has the potential to go many different directions, be it a working ranch horse, young project horse, trail/pleasure horse, or anything in between. She likes to get up and go, enjoys having a job and going to work, and has a good mind. She can be quite energetic at times and show her young age but overall has a quiet, willing disposition.

CIMARRON | 10-Yr-Old AQHA Red Roan Mare
Cimarron is registered AQHA and comes from Safe Landing Horse Rescue. She was a broodmare before being rescued, with minimal rides, a good mind, and with a sweet disposition.

RUMOR HAS IT | 3.5-Yr-Old Bay Gelding
Rumor is a 3 year old gelding standing just 13.2 hands tall. Rumor would love to be a family horse with kids and lots of love. He is very sweet with no mean bones in his body. He is still a young horse but very gentle and kind. Rumor has done a little bit of everything in our short time together, including reining, cutting, roping, jumping, trails, bareback riding, and obstacles. He has good lead changes and a nice stop. Rumor is great for the farrier, loads in a trailer, good with clippers and stands tied. He is also well started in breakaway and heeling for roping. Rumor will lay down on command for you and allow you to get on his back. Don’t let his size full you what he lacks in height he makes up for in heart.

JOURNEY | 3-Yr-Old Overo Sorrel Paint Mare
Journey is a friendly 3 year old overo bald face sorrel paint mare. She is quiet, calm, willing, and incredibly trusting. She has good ground manners, loads and trailers, and stands for the farrier very well. Based on her training to this point, it is already apparent that Journey shows potential in a wide variety of disciplines, including gymkhana events, particularly poles and barrels, jumping, pleasure, reining, combined training, cow work, roping, dressage, tricks, ranch work, competitive & pleasure trail riding, 4H, as an equitation horse, and in Equine Therapy and Therapeutic Riding. She is very smooth to ride through all her gaits. Journey is an easy keeper who would make a great kids horse, and genuinely enjoys human company. In my 30+ years of horse training, rarely have I come across such a mellow, willing, and intelligent young horse.

JACKIE | 3-Yr-Old American Quarter Horse Sorrel Mare
Jackie is a beautiful 4-year-old mare! Since she began with Wagner Training she has impressed us with her amazing temperament and athletic ability! There is not a mean bone in this mares’ body! Jackie has been ridden in MANY different arenas: both indoor and outdoor. She has been ridden alone and with upwards of 30 horses in the same arena. Jackie has been on trail rides, pushed cows in an open field, and worked cows in an arena setting. Jackie has learned many skills including side passing, walking, trotting, loping over logs, crossing bridges, small jumps, side passing across poles, dragging logs, roping, and riding with a flag. Jackie has been ridden in a various saddles, pads, and headsets. This mare will not disappoint you, she is a quick learner and will take you where you want to go.

STORMY | 10-Yr-Old Mustang Bay Mare
Stormy is an amazing mare! She is a pleaser and just wait until you ride her lope, smooth! She adjusts to new tasks well and will retain them even after a few days off. She has started to fine tune into seat and leg pressure. Stormy has shown to work best with slower lighter hands and/or with a confident rider..

Meet Cactus...Cactus was one of 59 malnourished and mistreated horses rescued from hardship and brought to Colorado in 2015. Thanks to the help of rescue workers and volunteers, Cactus and his friends all were given a second chance at a happy life. Cactus is now thriving in his new home, where not only is he a great riding horse, but a wonderful new member to their family.
Horses in transition, like Cactus, deserve a second chance.
