February 25 ~ Today’s reading from Mark tells the story of Peter, James and John on a mountain with Jesus when he was transfigured (changed) in a mag-
nificent way. His clothes became dazzling white, the prophets Moses and Elijah
appeared, and a voice from the cloud said: “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”

Spiritual Practices for the Season
of Lent; Fasting-Charity-Prayer We are already entering the second full
week of Lent and most of us marked our foreheads with the sign of the ashes on Ash
Wednesday as our commitment to grow
and improve our faithfulness to the Gospel! I hope that many people will attend the four night Mission
beginning Sunday at 7:00 PM. Confessions will be available
Tuesday night and with 10 priests assisting...it will be a short service. Please bring the children and make it a Family Pen-
ance Service.
There is a Family Mass Wednesday at 6:00 PM followed by a pasta/meatball dinner for everyone! Please sign up in the
Gathering Space for the dinner or call the rectory by 5:00 PM
Monday. Sorry no later!
Partners in Charity Appeal...March 16-17 Lent is the ideal season to celebrate the annual Partner’s Appeal! After all, Lent is a time for sacrifice and generosity
and reminds everyone of Jesus’ emphasis on Prayer, Fasting
and Charity. In order to meet the needs of the tens of thou-sands of people who are served and taught by ministries and
agencies each day, it is vital that everyone give generously
toward a successful parish appeal. St. Rose of Lima is a generous and thoughtful community
and last year raised $177,000, more than our goal of
$122,000. What a difference we all made in the lives of others in need. Please pray about this appeal and consider a gener-
ous gift as a sign of gratitude for all you’ve been given. Every-
one will receive a letter with more information within 7-10 days.
