Mask Making Update

What started as a conversation between two Women’s Club
members has resulted in an extremely successful service project
for our parish. As of August 9th, 2400 masks have been made
and delivered to approximately 30 human service organizations
in our community.

Our requests for adult masks have tapered. With the onset of the
new school year, most of our current requests are for children’s
masks. The remaining commitments that we hope to meet are:
 Pernet Family Health Services
 Family Medical Health
 Northborough Schools
 St. Peter’s Catholic Church
 Worcester Public Schools

We are grateful for everyone of you who have supported this
meaningful work and we hope that you can join us for this last
mile. If you have any questions about his project or want to hop
on board, please contact [email protected].

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most
Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things and I desire
to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there,
and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.

For your health and safety….

We will only have one bathroom available for
emergencies. Please plan to use your restroom at home
before attending Mass.

Thank you.

TwentySecond Sunday of Ordinary Time

“What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life?” (Matthew 16:26) St. Francis of Assisi
once said, “Remember, you are what you are in the eyes of
God, and nothing else.” We often forget this stewardship
wisdom when we spend all of our time, talent and treasure to
gain more of the world’s riches. We need to set our priorities
based on God’s values and not the values of the material
world. ~ The Diocesan Dispatch

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
Dear Parishioners,

Who would believe that we will be celebrating Labor
Day very shortly?! We are already looking to the beautiful fall
season and its amazing foliage. These celebrations are a
reminder of God’s show of care and love in the midst of this
terrible pandemic. I often wonder when will it be over? Each
of us must keep up our guard and be watchful for one another
and remember to check on our neighbors.

Each week I am amazed at your generosity and am
deeply moved by your kindness, support and love of God and
love of our parish, St. Rose of Lima. I pray to St. Rose and
always ask her to bless you and every parishioner in her
parish...which she generously shares with all of us.

We rely on your kindness and support. We rely on
everyone’s support to fulfill our financial obligations, which are
the same every month of the year. Soon we will begin to replace
some of the electrical equipment in the church and change all
the old lights to LED bulbs. I expect to have all the costs
available to share with you as soon as possible.

 God bless you and yours.

PS. Reminder: Prayer Service to end the pandemic will be held

Partners in Charity
Annual Appeal…

We have exceeded our goal
and are currently at 107%:
$130,540.

Thank you for your support!

Overall, the Diocese is still shy of their goal of $5M by $856,000,
needed to support all of the programs. So, if you have not given
yet, please consider doing so. The deadline for 2020 donations is
Sept. 5th.

Through Partners we continue to reach out to the thousands of
Latinos and Africans who come to our Diocese, offer programs
for couples preparing for marriage, prepare new deacons for the
Church, and defend the lives of the vulnerable and the unborn.

All of this can only be accomplished by the gifts you make.

We hope you’ll be generous, this very day, in making a gift which
reflects your gratitude to God for all you have and remembering
that our gifts must sustain these services every single day of the
year ahead.

You can make your donation directly online at:
https://partnerscharity.net/donate

Or call the parish office (5083932413) and a donation envelope
will be mailed out to you.
