Saint Paul School 250 James Street Burlington, NJ 08016 Education for Tomorrow, Faith for a Lifetime. March 13, 2019 1 From the Principal Dear SPS Families, Things are back to normal after our long week of testing. I want to thank everyone for making sure their children were here and on time. We have now resumed our normal schedule and we are in the 3 rd trimester. Please make sure that your child does their best in the next few months, as this will be their final grades for this school year. Each morning I go into the cafeteria and do announcements and prayers. During Lent I have been reading from a little book that I got in Church. Today I talked about the three stages of forgiveness. I told the students to think about someone that hurt them and that they needed to forgive. The first stage is to identify the person who hurt you. Once identified, you need to see them as you should see yourself - imperfect, but someone God loves. I reminded the children that we all make mistakes, and no one is perfect, but God will never stop loving us. The second stage of forgiveness is to give up the “right” to get even. Vengeful thoughts don’t make the other person suffer, they hurt yourself. The best thing to do is to clear your mind with prayer and those kinds of bad thoughts. Try to think about some good qualities or traits that person may possess. The last stage to forgiveness is to stand next to the Lord and look at the other person. Jesus wants good things to happen to them. He always wants the best for us. With the Lord’s help, begin to look at the other person the way the Lord does. I share with you what I shared with your children. We all have someone or something that we need to forgive. Take 10 seconds to think of someone you find hard to forgive. The three stages of forgiveness are not easy and can’t be accomplished in one sitting or one day. But you might be able to do this by Easter. Try it! It may help to bring a sense of peace to your heart. God Bless, Mrs. Kimberly Cioci, M.Ed Greetings from Father Chris Please see the attached letter from Fr. Chris in today’s Weekly News. SPS will be having a career fair on April 10 from 8:30am-10:30am. Students will be given the opportunity to learn about many occupations and career paths. We are looking for a variety of people interested in spending a couple of hours talking to our students about their career. Whether you are a nurse, mechanic, astronaut, police officer, custodian, scientist, electrician, culinary, attorney, business owner, etc. - we need you! Please contact me at [email protected] and let me know if you are interested! Thank you in advance.

    From the Principal

    Dear SPS Families,

Things are back to normal after our long week

of testing. I want to thank everyone for making

sure their children were here and on time. We

have now resumed our normal schedule and we

are in the 3rd trimester. Please make sure that your

child does their best in the next few months, as

this will be their final grades for this school year.

Each morning I go into the cafeteria and do

announcements and prayers. During Lent I have

been reading from a little book that I got in

Church. Today I talked about the three stages of

forgiveness. I told the students to think about

someone that hurt them and that they needed to

forgive. The first stage is to identify the person

who hurt you. Once identified, you need to see

them as you should see yourself - imperfect, but

someone God loves. I reminded the children that

we all make mistakes, and no one is perfect, but

God will never stop loving us.

The second stage of forgiveness is to give up

the “right” to get even. Vengeful thoughts don’t

make the other person suffer, they hurt yourself.

The best thing to do is to clear your mind with

prayer and those kinds of bad thoughts. Try to

think about some good qualities or traits that

    person may possess.

The last stage to forgiveness is to stand next to

the Lord and look at the other person. Jesus wants

good things to happen to them. He always wants

the best for us. With the Lord’s help, begin to

look at the other person the way the Lord does.

I share with you what I shared with your

children. We all have someone or something that

we need to forgive. Take 10 seconds to think of

someone you find hard to forgive. The three

stages of forgiveness are not easy and can’t be

accomplished in one sitting or one day. But you

might be able to do this by Easter. Try it! It may

help to bring a sense of peace to your heart.

    God Bless,

    Mrs. Kimberly Cioci, M.Ed

    Giving Tree

    Announcement

You will notice some on-going work in the school lobby. Through our years of working

hard to “Keep St. Paul Strong” we as a school community have asked for annual support from our extended Saint Paul School family. Our supporters are believers in what Saint Paul School is all about: high academic standards, family, friends and above all faith! A Giving Tree was planned during the first appeal (2015/2016) as a way to acknowledge and thank our supporters. The installation of that tree will begin shortly with a full reveal in the Fall of 2019! If you would like to be included on the Giving Tree and become a part of the amazing extended Saint Paul School community please contact Lucy Tomczynski at [email protected] for more information. There will also be donation forms available during and after the installation to explain the various levels of giving. Your on-going support is so important to the overall success of Saint Paul School. Thank you - Together we are Strong and we are Strong together!

Girls on the Run at SPS

We are excited to bring back our Girls on the Run Program to Saint Paul School for our third season!! At Girls on the Run, we believe that adolescents have amazing gifts and strengths to cultivate! Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique.

The Spring program is open to girls in 3rd-5th grades. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 - 6:45pm, at Saint Paul School. Girls DO NOT need to attend Saint Paul School to participate. The program is 10 weeks and will finish up with the girls participating in a 5K.

This celebratory, non-competitive event is the culminating experience of the curriculum. Completing the 5k gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals.

Practices will begin on Tuesday April 9, 2019, but don't worry...registration will be ongoing for two weeks past our start date. Please see the flyers in today’s Weekly News for more information. To register your girl today, visit www.girlsontherunnj.org. If you have any questions please contact Coach Molly at [email protected].
