Greetings to all,
I hope that you have had a wonderful week. This Saturday morning we cerebrated the Ordination to the order of deacon for our own Mr. James Porter and it was truly a wonderful Mass. I am so happy for James as I know you are too. As you may have heard from time to time over the last couple of years I have been filling in for Fr. Chris Dagile at Saint Joesph Parish in Hominy. Well I am doing that again. I have been going the last couple of weeks and I will continue to go until July the first and that will be my last weekend there for now. It is always fun to go back to my home town for a Mass.
Everything is slowing down for the summer school is out or almost out for everyone and we have come to that peaceful time of the year when it warms up and we can enjoy time off as well as vacations. Summer sports leagues are continuing to start and here at both Saint Patrick Church and the Parish of Our Lady of the Lake we are in planning mode but also a restful time for ourselves as parish.
Something just to think about, starting this September at Saint Patrick Church we are going to start having an event called second Sunday’s. You guessed it, the second Sunday of every month we are going to have a Holy Hour from 5p.m. to 6p.m. followed by a video series in the multi-purpose room of the Father Fulton Building. When we finish we will go out as a group for dinner. The meal will be on your own but just to try something to build community. Also believe it or not it is already time to start talking about RCIA. If you know someone, if you yourself are interested please let me know. This is for both parishes.
Also at Our Lady of the Lake we are going to resume our video series that we started in Lent I hope we will have our next meeting in September. This summer once again we will be having our annual parish picnic. Details will be coming up on that.
This past Friday I observed my fifth anniversary of Ordination to the priesthood. I am still as happy today as I was on my Ordination day. God had truly blessed me with this life and I would not trade it for anything in the world. I love my priesthood and I love my parishes. It is the most wonderful life. If you know someone who you think would be a good priest don’t be afraid to tell them. It is amazing how may priests say that their vocation started when someone said I think you would be a good priest.

Here is how it works: First go to formed.org then log in and give your parish code. The code for both St. Patrick and Our Lady of the Lake is WQMGDF (this is case sensitive).
