The St. Lucy Legion of Mary seeks those who are willing to transform their faith into action by doing good works in the community. The Legion of Mary, as an act of faithful service to the Church, performs spiritual works of mercy thru the door to door family visitations, conduct census with in the parish boundaries without distinction as the ethnicity or creed, encourage those who have not yet received their sacraments to join the RCIA/RICA. We also bring the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the families and encourage them to pray the Rosary. We also visit those who are homebound and bring the Holy Eucharist. We joyfully proclaim the Good News to the community. If you feel you have the calling, please join us every Tuesday at 4:00pm in the Lalor Room. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS St. Lucy parish Knights of Columbus, Council 12542 cordially invites all male practicing Catholics to join its
venerable order. Application for membership is now open to all gentlemen. The Knights of Columbus
is the biggest Catholic fraternal organization in the world. The members are highly motivated by faith expressed through Charity.
Council meeting is every 2nd Saturday of the month at 5:30 pm. Annual membership dues is $25. Application forms are available at

Young adults gather to read the word, study the bible, pray and serve actively in the mass celebration twice a month. As Young adults we get lost or caught up in daily routines and life duties and forget to put a little time aside for our Lord. This group meets once a week on Mondays in the Joseph Hall from 7-9pm. We serve mass on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 1pm and the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the 7pm mass and when the month has 5 Sundays, we serve at the 6:30am mass. Once a month, we have liturgical teachings for our mass service and are supported by our Deacon Francisco. We prepare young adults to become active readers, ushers and Eucharistic ministers so they can become the future of our Church and encourage them to actively participate in our liturgy as well as learn and study the Works of our Lord along the way.

Pero si buscas locura, la encontrarás en las lecturas de hoy. Comencemos con Levítico y la amonestación “no te vengues ni guardes rencor” (Levítico 19:18). Por supuesto que hemos escuchado este mensaje antes, y por eso puede que olvidemos lo alejado que está de las “realidades prácticas de la vida”, contra las que nos advierte san Pablo. Será mejor que quien se considere sabio “se haga ignorante”, porque “la sabiduría de este mundo es ignorancia ante Dios” (1 Corintios 3:18, 19). Esta “locura” continúa en el Evangelio: “No hagan resistencia al hombre malo” (Mateo 5:39). De hecho, presenta la otra mejilla, si has sido golpeado. Dale tu abrigo al que te pide la camisa. ASH WEDNESDAY Prayer, fasting, and almsgiving: these disciplines, prescribed by Jesus himself in the Sermon on the Mount, along with strict instructions not to flaunt them in public to win recognition and praise (Matthew 6:1-18), have been embraced by all the saints at the beginning of every Lent for almost two thousand years. But mention Lent, and many react with a grimace or slight shudder—even now, years after official obligations have been reduced to a minimum! No wonder the Eastern Rite’s “Lenten Announcement” sounds surprising: “Let us receive with joy, O faithful people, the divinely inspired announcement of Lent! The Lenten Spring shines forth! Begin the fast with joy! Let us fast from passions as well as food, taking pleasure in the good works of the Spirit, and accomplishing them in love!” Saint John Chrysostom, whose feast is September 13, elaborates: “Do you fast? Give proof by your works. If you see a poor person, take pity. An enemy, be reconciled. A friend gaining honor, don’t be jealous.” A positive approach! ¡CUIDADO! NO TODAS LAS ‘IGLESIAS CATOLICAS’ LO SON Puede ser que el templo se vea como un templo Católico o que tienen allí una imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe o de otros Santos Católicos. También puede ser que el pastor se viste como sacerdote y que allí dan ‘Misas’. Nada de esto garantiza que son Católicos verdaderos en comunión con el Papa Francisco.
Tristemente, hay un numero creciente de sectas nuevas que insisten que son 'Católicas' pero rechazan la autoridad del Papa y las demás doctrinas Católicas. Confunden a la gente no instruida que va en busca de los Sacramentos de la Iglesia.
¡Cuidado con aquellas sectas! Y dese cuenta: un Católico debe asistir a Misa y recibir los Sacramentos solamente en una parroquia ‘registrada’ con la Iglesia Católica, Apostólica y Romana. Si no, los llamados ‘Sacramentos’ recibidos no son lícitos a los ojos de la Iglesia Católica, Apostólica y Romana.

abstinence. Please take note of the following Mass and Scripture Service schedules followed by the
imposition of ashes:
