St. John’s is a Church of Grace and Truth
At St. John’s we seek to be grace-filled, graceful, and a people of truth.
Believing Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, we understand our need
for the grace he offers. We believe in responding in gratitude for the grace
we have received by extending grace to others. We do this by loving God,
one another, and our community, and reorienting our lives around the
truths handed to us through the Holy Scriptures. Join us in the journey!
THANK YOU’S—Thank you for your prayers and support during Mother’s illness and death. The peace lily is
beautiful and very much a reminder that she is now at peace with our Savior. Please continue to pray for us s the
gaping hole in our hearts is huge and painful at times. ~I love you all, Pam
Church Family, Thank you to everyone who helped with the Oktoberfest Dinner sponsored by Women’s
Fellowship. The dinner was a success and we couldn’t have made it without your help. I appreciate each one that
helped in any way from helping with the prep work, to setting up the room, dishwashers, cooks, greeters, servers
runners and many more.~ Maria Schultz, chairman Oktoberfest Dinner
COAT HANGERS NEEDED—If you have extra coat hangers just hanging around, and in your way, we could
use them for the coat drive. Place by the coat drop off boxes.

our lives and circumstances more than we think. Come join us as we discover these places in our lives that we tend
to get stuck in and how to deal with them the way God has planned. Class meets in the Confirmation room each
week. Facilitator is Melanie Gann.

- Out and About Day! --8:00 am-3:00 pm
Come with us as we explore a couple of local industries in Cullman then head off to Hartselle for lunch.
First stop will be Cullman Electric Cooperative, and see their new dispatch area to help you understand what
happens when a call is made to report a power outage. You will learn how power trucks are dispatched and see the
huge grid board to show who has lights on or off and where trucks are located. Goat Island will be the second stop
on the tour. What could a rocket scientist, geologist, insurance agent and a police officer have in common? With
the help of a recipe found in an attic of an old downtown building , handwritten by William Frederick Richter,
they have helped Goat Island in becoming a recognized name among the state. Lunch stop will be at the Freight
House in Hartselle then a little shopping around the antique stores there! Sign up by Oct.13th
to reserve your seat
on the bus for Out and About!
