PARISH REGISTRATION: Welcome all new families and individuals.

Membership is a condition for the reception of the Sacraments of

Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion at St. Benedict, and for the

parish to issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be sacramental

sponsors. You must be a registered, contributing member for at least three

(3) months before a certificate will be given.

Registration forms are available in the Parish Office.

SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK: If you are

seriously ill, going in for surgery or weak from old age, you may receive

the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. Please contact Fr. Duong if you

desire to receive this sacrament.

HOSPITAL & NURSING HOME & SHUT-IN VISITS: If you or any

members of your family are sick and in the hospital or a nursing home,

and you’d like Communion brought to them, please call the Parish Office.

FAITH FORMATION: All classes from Pre-K to High School are on

Sundays from 9:30-10:30am in the Parish Hall. For more information

call Lynne McGrath.

RCIA: Please call the Parish Office for more information.

MARRIAGES: Arrangements must be made with a priest/deacon at least

six (6) months in advance. Call the Parish Office for more information.

DSA SUPPORT APPEAL 2017 Your pledge to the Diocesan Support

Appeal is shared with the educational, multicultural, vocational, housing,

and social service ministries of the diocese. Thousands of people depend on

your generosity. You may complete a pledge envelope and return it to the

Parish Office or go to www.charlottediocese.org to make a gift online. If you have not yet made a

gift to the DSA this year, please give prayerful consideration to determine an amount that you are

proud to give. As of today ONLY 73 of our parish families have contributed $21,351.04. We

need each of you to help us reach our goal of $24,484.00. Thank you for all of your efforts!

MORE THAN A PICNIC! It is hard to believe that it is that time of the year

again! Mark your calendars! St. Benedict’s annual picnic is Sunday,

September 17th. The hours will be 1 PM to 4 PM at the Knights of Columbus

Property on Horse Pen Creek Road. Watch for signup sheets in the vestibule

after the Masses.

Dear Parishioners,

Last month, we presented to you our plan of restoration of St. Benedict Catholic Church to

her beauty and reverence.

Since our Faith Formation has ended this weekend with the celebration of Confirmation on

Saturday, May 20th and First Communion on Sunday, May 21

st we will proceed as planned

next month. Yes, the next couple of months from June 5th

to August 30th

, St. Benedict

Church WILL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. During this time, ALL Masses – both weekends

and weekdays - will be celebrated in the Parish Hall; however, the Mass schedule will remain

the same.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation and

understanding during the renovation this summer.

MISSION APPEAL This weekend, July 29th & 30

th there will be a Mission Appeal Second

Collection for the Diocese of Kumba, Africa. Please be as generous as you can. Father Wilfred

Emeh will be the celebrant for all weekend Masses.

EUCHARIST CONGRESS 2017: The Eucharistic Congress is a very

popular, free event that will shine a light on your soul. Plan to attend this

year’s event Friday and Saturday, September 8 and 9 at the Charlotte

Convention Center.

*** As each year, in preparation for the 2017 Eucharist Congress, Bishop

Jugis would very much like to write to every First Communicant in the

diocese with a personal invitation to participate in the event (for the outdoor

procession on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 9:15 AM and for the program for children which
