A Message From Your Pastor My Dear Parishioners,
Today we begin what is really the most special week of the year, for all of us who consider ourselves disciples and true believers that Jesus is who He says He is: the Son of God, the Way, The Truth, and the Life. This week is so special that we call it “Holy”, a
word which means sacred, God-centered, set apart. This week is Holy because 2,000 years ago, a week began with the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem as hundreds of admir-ers waved palm branches, usually reserved for a victorious general. In the middle of that week and all the way to its end, God showed what true victory looks like. For Jesus, as Son of God, and freely choosing to suffer and die on the cross for us, conquered Satan, sin, and the fear of death itself. That is a true victory! The week begins with earthly glory. But as this week proves, the only way to eternal glory is through the cross. That is a hard lesson to accept, especially when we feel nailed to our crosses in life. But it is the only answer to the questions of “What is life?” and “What is death really all about?” Because this week is so central to our faith, I encourage you, as much as you are able, to put aside the usual routine and carve out time to walk the journey anew, with Jesus. As He carries His cross, let us carry ours with Him. Life is not meant to be lived in isolation. As you accompany Him, He will accompany you. If you want to get a vivid, dramatic picture of what Holy Week is all about, I encourage you to come to our Annual Passion Play. Mrs. Lisa Garner , Mrs. Susan DiFlor io and I have been rehearsing three times a week with the seventh and eighth grade students of our school since early January. This hour and a half presentation of Jesus’ life, death and resurrec-tion will help you, and especially your children, mentally visual-ize who Jesus is, and the depth of His love, that was poured out during the events of the first Holy Week. This Wednesday night at 7pm, there will be 10 pr iests available here at our Parish for Confession. There will be no service, so as to make your wait and your evening as convenient as possible. Please try to attend the services of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. While they are not Holy Days of Obligation, they are opportunities for each of us to freely choose to love God back in return. In these days of Holy Week, Jesus is showing us what love really looks like. By coming to the events of the Sacred Triduum, we are answering Jesus’ invitation to love, like Him, without holding back or doing things simply out of obligation. I hope to see you here.
May God Bless You,
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." (Luke 23: 42-43)

Scripture Readings for Next Sunday Easter, the Resurrection of the Lord April 21, 2019 Acts 10: 34A, 37-43 Psalm 118: 1-2, 16-17, 22-23 Colossians 3: 1-4 or 1 Corinthians 4: 6B-8 John 20: 1-9 Jesus has come back, and it was the same Jesus who had died on the cross. The women were the first to believe in the Good News of the resurrection Confronted by the news of Mary Magdalene who sees the empty tomb, Peter and the beloved disciple run to the tomb. The Gospel relates the strange news according to which "the other disciple" ran faster than Peter and arrived first at the tomb, but did not go in. He looked inside and saw the bandages on the ground. After he went in he saw also the folded shroud to one side. The Gospel then says, "He saw and believed!"
Bell Tower Mosaic Update-Part Two
The new Mosaic is even closer to completion! Many of the Apostles’ faces have been competed, and the beautiful robes and face of the Blessed Virgin Mary are done. The plan continues to have the mosaic in place on our new Bell Tower by June 9 for the celebration of the Pentecost, which the mosaic portrays.

Chrism Mass at the Cathedral The annual Chrism Mass will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on Holy Thursday, April 18 at 10 a.m., with the procession starting at 9:40 a.m. The Chrism Mass is the Liturgy celebrated each year by the Archbishop and concelebrated by all the priests of the Archdiocese. It is a day on which priests make a recommitment of their priesthood and the Archbishop blesses the holy oils that will be used for the sacraments in each parish (Including the Holy Chrism, Oil of the Catechumens, and the Oil of the Sick). The public is invited to this very meaningful and impres-sive Liturgy. Holy Thursday
Visitation of Churches Join in the traditional custom of visiting
neighboring churches after our Holy Thursday Mass. This practice commemorates Our Lord’s request to the Apostles in the Garden of Gethsemane on the First Holy Thursday: “Could you not watch one hour with me?”

Principal’s Corner It is hard to believe that it is Palm Sunday. The school year is passing swiftly. I strongly encourage you to attend our school’s 7th and 8th grade production of “The Passion Play.” There are two evening performances due to the usual large turnout. You can attend tonight or tomorrow night. Both shows begin at 7:30pm in the school gym. There is an admission fee of $5 for adults and $4 for children over the age of 12. Our students have worked hard during their many practices under the careful direction of Monsignor Marine and Mrs. Garner, and the many assistants that assist with the show. This performance will set the tone for Holy Week as you journey with our students who will perform the Passion of our Lord. I hope you will join us. May you have a solemn and prayerful Holy Week.

Dear Parishioners, Holy Thursday is very special for many reasons. Jesus instituted the sacraments of Holy Orders and Eucharist on Holy Thursday. Since the third grade students have received their First Communion just one year ago, we would like to invite them to come to Mass on Holy Thursday dressed in their First Communion clothes and walk in procession as a group (If the Communion clothes don't fit - dress in your Sunday best - your participation is important!). Our 7th graders received the sacrament of Confirmation during their 6th grade year and we all know that Confirmation is not the sacrament of "Exit" - they are also invited to affirm their choice to be a follower of Christ on this special night by wearing their Confirmation robes and walk in procession as a group. If you would like your child to participate (3rd or 7th grade) please call (215) 357-2130 or email [email protected] on Monday - April 15th. We need to have an idea of how many seats to reserve in the church. We will line-up for the proces-sion in the 2nd floor hallway of the school at (7:10 p.m.). Hope we have a great turn-out! Perpetual adoration is continuous prayer in the presence of Jesus in the tabernacle or monstrance. Successive adorers undertake to make a weekly holy hour of prayer once a week and these holy hours continue day and night without ceasing. Those who spend a regular weekly Holy Hour in the Eucharistic presence of Jesus find that this hour has changed their lives. They develop an intimate friendship with Our Lord as they share their lives with Him. He too shares His Divine Life with them. “Trust all things to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and to Mary, Help of Christians and you will see what miracles are.” St. John Bosco Please stop by and visit Jesus in our chapel adjacent to the parish offices in the St. Katharine Drexel Center. Andrew Laubacher, aka ALOB, was raised in Ventura, California, where he attended Mass, played many sports, hung at the beach and was always into music. He attended Catholic school before switching
to a public school because he was “tired of the Catholic rules.” In high school, he partied hard. After a serious wake-up call, he decided to attend a Steubenville Youth Conference where he found God. That
changed ALOB’s life. ALOB received degrees in theology and philoso-phy from Franciscan University. Today, his mission is to introduce the freedom and love of Christ through worship music and preaching to
modern culture.
