FROM OUR PASTOR, FR. MATTHEW ZUBERBUELER / DE NUESTRO PÁRROCO PADRE MATTHEW ZUBERBUELER
Dear Friends,
This year we have the gift of celebrating All Saints Day on a Sun-day! We hear the Gospel of the Beatitudes, the recipe for holy living. And we honor everyone who is in Heaven, famous ones and otherwise. We can ask for the Saints’ prayers to inspire us to bring our particular call to holiness into the mission of building God’s Kingdom in this world. Pope Francis has this to say about being peacemakers (from the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et ex-sultate:
88. Peacemakers truly “make” peace; they build peace and friend-ship in society. To those who sow peace Jesus makes this mag-nificent promise: “They will be called children of God” (Mt 5:9). He told his disciples that, wherever they went, they were to say: “Peace to this house!” (Lk 10:5). The word of God exhorts every believer to work for peace, “along with all who call upon the Lord with a pure heart” (cf. 2 Tim 2:22), for “the harvest of righteous-ness is sown in peace by those who make peace” (Jas 3:18). And if there are times in our community when we question what ought to be done, “let us pursue what makes for peace” (Rom 14:19), for unity is preferable to conflict.[74]
89. It is not easy to “make” this evangelical peace, which excludes no one but embraces even those who are a bit odd, troublesome or difficult, demanding, different, beaten down by life or simply uninterested. It is hard work; it calls for great openness of mind and heart, since it is not about creating “a consensus on paper or a transient peace for a contented minority”,[75] or a project “by a few for the few”.[76] Nor can it attempt to ignore or disregard conflict; instead, it must “face conflict head on, resolve it and make it a link in the chain of a new process”.[77] We need to be artisans of peace, for building peace is a craft that demands serenity, creativity, sen-sitivity and skill.
Sowing peace all around us: that is holiness. …helpful teachings as we face a potentially not-so-peaceful week.
With my prayers,Fr. Matthew ZuberbuelerPastor
P.S. Don’t forget on November 2nd and throughout November to pray for your departed loved ones and for all the Faithful Departed. Masses on Monday, November 2, will be at 7 AM, 8:20 AM,12 PM, and 7 PM (bilingual).
Queridos amigos,

REMINDER that masks are required to attend Mass and are to be worn throughout the Mass. At Communion we strongly encourage receiving on the hand and removing mask temporarily to consume the Host. Some have stayed away from Mass because they fear these precautions are not being observed by others.
Remember that it is an act of kindness and charity to do what helps another.
SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe you are truly present inthe Blessed Sacrament.
I love you more than anything in the world, and I hunger to feed on your flesh. But since I cannot receive communion at this moment, feed my soul at least spiritually. I unite myself to you now as I do
when I actually receive you.Never let me drift away from you.
AMEN
