Important College Registration PolicyThepolicyofPrinceGeorge’sCommunityCollegeistoprohibitenrollmentinmultipleclassesmeeting atthesametime,onthesamedayanddates.Students mustchoosetheclassestheywanttoattendandmakesuretherearenoconflictsoftime/day/date ontheschedules.Thismaymeanregisteringforadifferentsectionofadesiredclass.Teachersareinstructednottoallowstudentstoattendclassesforwhichtheyarenotofficiallyregistered.Pleasebecarefultoregisterforallclasses—butbemindfulofothers.The SAGE Program is a great value, but please only register for classes that you plan to attend.
Age RestrictionAlthoughtheSAGEProgrampermitsstudentsunder60yearsoldtopaytuitionandparticipateinsomeclasses,manyseniorclasssiteshaveanagerestriction.Therefore,anyoneundertheageof60wantingto enrollinaSAGEclassmustfirstgetpermissionfromtheclasssitemanagertomakesureheorshemeets theageparticipationrequirements.SomesitelimitationsarelistedintheSiteDirectoryonpages6–7.

Matters of MoneyRegistration FeesMarylandresidentswhoare60oroldermayregisterforasmanynon-conflictingstateapprovedcoursesasdesiredandpayone$85 SAGE Registration Fee (SRF) per trimester, plusanyadditionalinstructional,supply,and/orlabfees.Fornon-seniorsandallnon-Marylandresidents,includingthoseaged60orolder,thenon-refundableregistration feeis$25pertrimester,plustuitionandanyadditionalinstructional,supply,and/orlabfees.

Tuition for Non-Seniors and OthersPrinceGeorge’sCountyresidentsunder60yearsoldandallotherswhodonotmeetthecriteriaforatuitionwaivermayregister for anyclassinthisbookletbypayingthetuition,however some sites have age restrictions.(Pleasechecksiteinformationpages6–7.)Foreachcourse,thecostofSAGEtuitionisbasedonthetotalnumberofhoursthecoursemeetsforthesemester (seebelow),plusthe$25registrationfee. Supplies, Books, and Lab FeesStudentsareresponsibleforpurchasingtheirownsuppliesforallclasses,e.g.,artmaterials,craftsupplies,tools,textbooks.Informationregardingarequiredtextorothersupplieswillbemadeknownatthefirstclass.Labfeesmaybeassessedforsomecourses.
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
TheRSVPseekstoassistseniorsinremainingintheirhomesandcommunitiesforaslongaspossible.Manyolderadultscannolongerdriveyetstillneedtogettodoctorappointments,pickupprescriptions,gogroceryshopping,andrunroutineerrands.Tohelpwiththisneed,theRSVPisactivelyrecruitingvolunteerstoprovidesenior transportation services.Toqualify,youmustbeatleastage55,haveaccesstoavehicle,andbewillingtodriveseniorstotheirvariousdestinations.Volunteerscanchoosetheamountoftimeanddaystheyareavailabletobestservetheseniorcommunity.Someoftheprogrambenefitsaremileage reimbursement,freesecondaryinsurance coverage,andmore.
