We are excited to announce that the 2017 Utah Safety Conference and Expo will take place at the South Towne Expo Center on February 28th - March 1st.
This first annual conference hosted by the Utah Safety Council will feature educational tracks, keynote lunch speakers, and an expo highlight-ing the latest in safety products and services.
For 80 years, the Utah Safety Council has pro-vided training and resources to assist our mem-bers in developing and implementing safety programs to protect their employees. The 2017 Utah Safety Conference and Expo evolved from requests by our members to focus on safety top-ics that are relevant to their needs.
This conference will provide you with a great op-portunity to network with others while learning from the presenters and keynote speakers. We believe this is just one more way we can help you meet your safety needs.
We look forward to reaching out to all of you for your input as we finalize the topics to discuss. Watch for additional information in the next few months.
Thank you for being a part of the Utah Safety Council. We appreciate your input and your continued involvement with our organization.

At the Utah Safety Council, we offer many different training options each day for individuals and businesses. One training opportunity that would benefit most companies is our Defensive Driving Instructor course. This two-day instructor course trains you to become a National Safety Council Certified Defensive Driving Course (DDC-4) instructor.
Did you know that participants who complete our Defensive Driving Course are eight times less likely to be involved in an automobile colli-sion? Having your own certified instructor is a cost-effective way to en-sure that all of your drivers develop safe, defensive driving habits and attitudes.
Additionally, this program can help your organization increase its profit-ability by reducing the number of insurance claims, time away from work due to injuries, and the cost of vehicle repairs. According to the National Safety Council, the most costly lost-time workers’ compensation claims by cause of injury are for those resulting from motor vehicle crashes. These injuries averaged $70,199 per workers’ compensation claim.
In addition to a 4-hour traditional delivery, a company may elect to customize this course in a variety of ways to better fit the organization’s goals and needs.
For more information, please contact Greg Royall, Traffic Safety Program Manager at 801.746.SAFE (7233) or email [email protected].
