This month, our parish will be participating in the Box of Joy program. By packing Boxes of Joy with toys and other gifts, our parishioners will bless children suffering from extreme poverty by

sharing the joy of Christmas and planting seeds of hope through the Gospel. Materials will be available starting Sunday, October 18 and the deadline for returning your packed Boxes of Joy will be Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020. Please bring your boxes to the hall in the lower church. Checks to cover the shipping of the gifts overseas should be made out to Cross Catholic Outreach, not the parish. We encourage every parishioner to pack a Box of Joy! For more info, contact the Project Leader Carolina Ruiloba at (339) 203-2086 or check out www.CrossCatholic.org/BoxOfJoy

2020 Grand Annual Collection Once again, it is time for the Grand Annual Campaign. Without a doubt this has been, so far and will continue to be, a very challenging year. We are witnessing a Pandemic that has claimed the lives of many people in our country and throughout the world. It has claimed physical, psychological, financial, mental and spiritual health. And maybe more! Due to the present day situation, our parish has seen a decrease in the weekly offertory and money coming in. We need people to contribute, more than usual, to this Grand Annual. I am asking those who can, to contribute according to their means and blessings.

Whatever you can afford will help to keep Sacred Hearts financially sound. Our goal last year was $65,000, we hope to surpass last year’s monetary goal. You may give your pledge as a single payment or in three installments: October, November and December. If should be receiving a Pledge card in the mail, soon. However, you may also pick up a pledge card from the tables in the back of the church. I hope that you will do your best to contribute to this 2020 Grand Annual. May God bless your kindness and generosity. Fr. Mario

Today, on World Mission Sunday, we respond, “Here I Am, Send Me,” to our baptismal call to mission, and we offer, at the Eucharistic celebration, our prayers and generous financial support, through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, to continue the mission of Jesus. Today we are “sent” out to be a witness to the missions through our prayers and sacrifices for our brothers and sisters around the world. As little as…

$25 helps support a catechist for a month in remote Latin America

$75 provides for the work of religious Sisters caring for orphaned children in Africa

$100 assists families in sending their children to schools in Asia As always, your prayers are your most treasured gift to the Missions. Your prayers and donations, offered today, WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who are Christ’s witnesses to a world so in need of His healing, love, and peace. Please make your checks payable to The Propagation of the Faith and drop them in the parish collection containers or go online: www.propfaithboston.org and click on Donate Now!

Our deepest sympathies go out to Cheverus School Principal Thom P. Arria and his family for the recent passing of his beloved mother Anita Arria.

Our hearts are saddened by their loss and our thoughts and prayers are with them. May God give Mr. Arria and his family peace that they seek. May they be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding them. May Anita’s soul rest in peace.

Contributions may be made in Anita’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis TN 38105-9959.

CrossCatholic.org/BoxOfJoy

¡Aquí me tienes, mándame a mi!
