Prepare the way of the Lord is the com-mand of the Gospel today. Yet, what does that mean for us? How are we to prepare for the Son of God? Deacon A.J. in his column this weekend gives us
two possible means of preparation. Consider them over the next three weeks. Think about the last time you went to confession. If it has been a while, then why not take advantage of the several opportunities to go during these weeks leading up to Christmas? Why not spend a few moments Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. praying the Advent Stations of the Cross? But also, take a few moments each day and offer a prayer to God to express your anticipation for the birth of His Son on Christmas Day. Even if you feel overwhelmed by the craziness of these days, take but a moment and say a simple prayer. It could be as easy as saying:
“Our God will come to save us!”
Let God know that you are seriously preparing your hearts and homes for the greatest gift you will ever receive in your life - His Son - our salvation!
IIIITALIANTALIANTALIANTALIAN CCCCLASSESLASSESLASSESLASSES Italian Classes take place each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the rectory. Please join us for language lessons and some Italian Christmas Traditions.

“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy… with the anxieties of daily life.”
Advent is a time of preparation for the birth of our Lord and Savior. Too often, we find ourselves “caught up” in the “anxieties of daily life.” Are you concerned about the gift to buy for Aunt Mary or what am I am going to serve for dinner?
What is the best preparation for the coming of Jesus? Prayer and Penance.
Our Parish Family has the opportunity to prepare in many ways, there are two methods of preparation that I want to call to your attention:

Get away from it all – the hustle and bustle and prepare the way of the Lord.

The Advent Giving Tree!
Please take a moment and pick one of the ornaments on the Advent Giving Tree. The ornaments have a specific item and size on it. We ask that you buy the gift and return it to the Church un-
wrapped by December 20th. As is our tradition, the gifts will be distributed to our brothers and sisters at the Meridian House. Thank you.

Begin with the sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, + and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit. Amen Then you say:
Forgive me Father for I have sinned. It has been ___ since my last confession.
These are my sins.
Then confess your sins and if possible the number of times per sin. i.e. I lied 6 times . . . i.e. I lied 6 times . . . i.e. I lied 6 times . . . i.e. I lied 6 times . . .
When you are finished simply say: For these and for all my sins I cannot remember, I
ask for forgiveness.
The priest will speak with you briefly and give you your Penance. After which, he will ask you to say an Act of Contrition.
O my God I am sorry to have offended You and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell; but most of all because I have offendedYou, my God who are good and deserving of all my love. I firmly intend with the help of Your grace to confess my sins, do penance, and amend my life. Amen.

ADVENT STATIONS OF THE CROSS Each Friday of Advent at 6:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. come and celebrate the Advent Way of the Cross. This beautiful devotion is a great way to en-ter into the Advent Season with a look for-ward to the Christmas celebration of the
Birth of Christ. The Stations will be celebrated in the Church.
Once again, we have available after all the Masses the “Keep Christ in Christmas” car magnets. Each decal is only $5.00 and it sends a strong message that we honor the
birth of Christ!
Each Wednesday during the Advent Season, Confession is available
from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Also, Confessions are held every Saturday after the 8:00 a.m. Community
Mass (during the Holy Hour) and again Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
Before Christmas, please make a good confession. Perhaps that can be your gift
to Jesus the season.

Recognizing that it may be difficult for some to make their way down to aisle for Holy Communion, I would
like to remind you that those who sit in the front
pews on either side of the center aisle could remain there and Holy Communion will be brought to you.
Also, those who sit in the first rows, again on either side of the center aisle at the mid-break in the Church, could remain there and Holy
Communion will be brought to you. If you want to sit with family members anywhere else in the
Church but cannot get out for Holy Communion, please speak with either Fr. Chris, Deacon A.J.,
or Fr. Wayne prior to Mass and Holy Communion will be taken to you wherever you are.
Thank you.
