Sacred Heart Catholic Church First Sunday of Lent–February 18, 2018

Reflection from the Pastor:

In the Bible, a covenant is an agreement between God and a person, or many

times an entire people, in which God freely makes

promises to His people and the people in turn

promise to abide by the covenant. God made

various covenants in the Old Testament: with

Adam and Eve, with Noah, with Abraham, with

Moses and with David. All of these covenants

lead up to the New Covenant of Jesus. In this

New Covenant, God gives to us through the supreme grace earned by Christ

through His death on the Cross, the gift of

supernatural love by which we can love

God and neighbor.
