JULY 2016 SAAC-41 IS in the record books It’s over now. The circus has packed up and moved on, and all that is left are large sections of flattened grass and over-filled garbage cans. Presumably everyone made it home safely and cars have been put back in their garages. If you are wondering about the results of the car show, the concours and the vintage race, they were posted a few days after the conven- tion on SAAC’s website (SAAC Convention > Vintage Race, Concours or Popular Vote Car Show). You may also want to visit the SAAC Store to purchase a SAAC-41 t-shirt or hat if you were so caught up on the action that you left without one. Or if you have a special attraction to anything Hertz. We’re guessing they will go quickly. We’ve also cleaned out the garage and listed all of the hats and t-shirts we’ve had packed away. The store’s listing for each different item tracks how many are available. When that num- ber counts down to zero they are gone forever. Prices have been cut to a “let’s move ‘em outta here” $10 and that includes postage. We found some back issues we didn’t know we still had and they are shown in the store, too. As usual, SAAC members in Canada and overseas will have to pay for air mail postage, which we will compute and add to your credit card total. The Summer issue of The Shelby American is in the final stages of being completed and if it isn’t posted on SAAC’s website by the time you read this, it will be shortly. It contains an extensive article on SAAC-41 along with more than 150 convention pictures. We like to think of it as being the next best thing to being there. And it’s a good recap even if you were, because at conventions it’s im- possible to see everything. There are also 14 other articles in this issue, making it a bulging 106 pages – the biggest one we’ve ever done. Whew! No wonder we’re tired.

1962 Shelby 260 Cobra; Offered from the Carroll Hall Shelby Trust

CSX 2000 is Carroll Shelby’s very first Cobra. It was a car he loved, a car he drove, and a car that began the long legacy he would leave on the automotive world. Without CSX 2000, there would be no Cobras, no Shelby Mustangs, and no GT40s or GTs.
