    Scrapbooking and Batch-Bonding ActivitySAA 2012RUBYLARIANS CENTENNIAL CHALLENGE

    May 5, 2012, Saturday, 8:00 am-11:30 am

    St. Agnes Academy

    MECHANICS AND REGISTRATIONI. Objectives

    A. To produce delightful and informative scrapbooks that will serve as repositories of the

    alumnis memories of their SAA years; by their donation to the school and perpetual display

    at the SAA Museum, these scrapbooks may provide past, present, and future Agnesians astrong sense of history and rootedness that will help them envision a hopeful future for

    themselves and for the country.

    B.To provide an opportunity for batch-bonding that will be productive and meaningful for boththe Agnesian alumni and for SAA.

    II.Summary Description of Activity

    Agnesian alumni from different batches are invited to create scrapbooks immortalizing their

    years as a student of St. Agnes Academy, Legazpi City. They may come already prepared witha design for their scrapbook but the assembling of the scrapbook itself will have to be done

    during the May 5 Scrapbooking Activity at SAA.

    Three cash awards, each of P5,000, will be given for outstanding scrapbooks and scrapbooking

    teams following certain criteria. Winning scrapbooks will be awarded ribbons and will be

    displayed for posterity, together with the other scrapbooks, at the SAA Museum.

    The three awards will be as follows:

    Most Creative Scrapbook

    Most Historically Relevant Scrapbook

    Outstanding Scrapbook by the Largest Scrapbooking Team Representing a Batch

    III. Mechanics

    A. Participants

    1. Two or more alumni who must be batchmates can register to form a scrapbooking

    team and may represent their batch.

    2. If multiple teams from a batch register to join the activity, they may join forces to form

    one large team so they can compete for the team award.

    IV. Criteria for Selection and Awarding

    A. Pre-qualifying criteria:

    1. Scrapbook following specifications are observed:

    a) Size: 12 x 12b) number of sheets: 12-20

    c)

    at least one photo of scrapbooking team while in action, taken on May 5, 2012with all members properly identified in the label

    2. Scrapbooks are assembled during the scrapbooking activity and submitted on time.

    B. Awards for the Most Creative and the Most Historically Relevant Scrapbooks

    1. The awards for Most Creative Scrapbook and for The Most Historically Relevant

    Scrapbook will be judged according to the basic criteria in the box below:

    Historical relevance 25 %

    Dates & Events accurately labeled

    Significant information provided

    Creativity & originality 25 %

    In design 15 %

    In use of materials 5 %

    Use of local materials 5%

    Aesthetics (lines, color, balance, harmony) 20 %

    Organization 10 %Durability of materials used 10 %

    Neatness and care in execution 10 %

    Total: 100 %

    2. The scrapbooks with the highest points will qualify for these two awards.

    3. The award for The Most Creative Scrapbook will be given to the scrapbook with the

    highest rating on creativity and originality, while that with the highest point for

    Historical Relevance will receive The Most Historically Relevant Scrapbook award.

    C. Award for the Outstanding Scrapbook by the Largest Scrapbooking TeamRepresenting a Batch

    The award for The Outstanding Scrapbook by the Largest Scrapbooking Team

    Representing a Batch will be given to the scrapbook that has earned at least 60% points

    andprepared by the team with the most number of members who participated inassembling the scrapbook on the day of the activity.

    D. It is possible for a Scrapbooking Team to garner more than one award.

    V.Panel of Judges

    A. The Panel of Judges will consist of at least three experts representing the SAA

    Administration, the SAA Alumni, and the host batch (Rubilarians).

    B. Where there is a tie, the Panel of Judges will decide together on the procedure for

    breaking the tie.

    C. The Panels decision will be final and executory.

    VI. Awarding

    Results will be announced by the Ruby Jubilarians on May 6 and the awards will be given onthe same date, during the Grand Centennial Homecoming Program.
