Women’s Hammer Throw Winner – Brooke Anderson (Northern Arizona)

On winning the event: I'm happy I won, of course. I wish that my series was a little better though. I had a few struggles throughout the meet, but overall it was good.

On competing in the Texas Relays: I really like the ring and it's a great atmosphere to compete in. This is where regionals are going to be held this year so it's good to get in here and feel the ring and feel it out.

Women’s Heptathlon Winner – Erica Bougard (Chula Vista Elite)

On breaking the meet record: I was just holding on. I just came out here and had fun. That’s the most important thing to me. I wasn’t even supposed to do the hep at first and then I jumped in it. It’s pretty awesome to have another meet record.

How this record feels compared to her last one: This one was definitely easier. I’ve been doing a lot of training in the 800. It’s showing because I got to the 600 and I thought my legs were going to feel bad and I thought I was going to give up but I felt good overall.

Men’s Hammer Throw Winner – Alexander Young (SE Louisiana)

On what he liked about his technique today: Today it was really the entry. I think that just sets up the rest of your throw so me and my coach just worked on getting a nice arc on the entry and it paid off today.

On how today’s win gives him momentum for the rest of the season: Definitely a confidence booster for sure. I know there are a lot of guys still waiting at home, like Rudy Winkler an Olympian this past summer, so I have a lot of those guys to compete with later on but this was a good win.

Men’s Javelin Throw Section B Winner – Dylan Ahrens (Clemson)

On how it felt to win: It felt good, really good. Texas Relays is a big meet. It’s the first time I’ve been here.

On the Texas Relays: It’s awesome. I’ve always wanted to come to Texas just to be here, so being here for the meet makes it that much better. This is the first time I’ve had multiple people throw 60 in a meet this season, so that makes it that much better. Makes the competition better and helps me and pushes me a lot more.

Men’s Pole Vault Section B Winner – Hussain Alhizam (Kansas)

On winning the event: It feels great, especially with the way we started at the warmup. We kind of had wind and we struggled a little bit. But as the first outdoor competition of the year, it definitely feels great.

Men’s Decathlon Winner – Lindon Victor (Texas A&M)

On breaking the record with Trey Hardee here: If I'm to be honest, I didn't like the score because I think I was on pace to do something really good. But it's a multi, and I'm just learning for my first one and always trying to get better.

On if he had the confidence that he could break the record: Yeah I think I'm in better shape than I was last year, but I haven't ran a 1500 in a long time. I haven't done a multi. So I was a little bit tired. That's something I'm going to have to work on for the next one.

Men’s 800m Invitational Winner – Michael Saruni (UTEP)

On winning a strong race: I have a strong finish; I know myself. So I had to put myself to be right behind before that last 100 meters.

Women’s 1500m Section B Winner – Lindsay Joyce (South Dakota)

On winning the race: I'm really happy because that's a PR, so came here and ran fast against some good competition. We've been working a lot on closing speed in practice and so I feel that's really played to my advantage here, just the confidence and so when the last 200 came, you practice for it.

Men’s 1500m Winner – Bryan Kamau (Georgia)

On his victory: I had to do most of the workout. I wasn’t expecting that. But with the workouts I’ve been doing, I was ready for it. Once the guy from UTEP (Cosmas Bolt) made that move, I’m glad I was able to cover and I was able to get the win.

Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Winner – Melina Gryschka (Eastern New Mexico)

On the race: It was the first steeple of my year. I didn't practice the water jump at all so I was a little bit afraid, but everything went well and it felt easy.

Men’s 3000m Steeplechase Winner – John Rice (Texas)

On when he felt that he was going to win the race: I never really knew, you never really want to think that you have it in the bag. But around six minutes into the race I felt pretty good so I just wanted to start opening up the pace, just accelerating off of the barriers to see what I can do.

On getting a win in the Texas Relays: It's so special. I'm so blessed to just come here and win in front of the home crowd and my teammates and everyone. It's so special.

Girls’ 2000m Steeplechase Winner – Rylee Bowen (Sonoma Academy [Calif.])

On how the race went: My last race was New Bounds indoors and that one really didn't go well, in fact I did something which I've never done before which was pull out of a race and I'm really not proud of it. But it showed me that I'm not okay running like that and I wanted really badly to prove to myself that I could do it. And I'm thrilled with tonight with my time, I'm very happy with my time and I'm excited to run the 1600 tomorrow.

Boys’ 2000m Steeplechase Winner – Zephyr Seagraves (College Station)

On the race: It feels good. It's always fun to run steeplechase because you don't get to in high school very often, so I always look forward to this meet and the meet champions that get to run it.

Women’s 5000m Winner – Winny Koech (UTEP)

On the race: The race was good. At first I was so nervous, but when we took off I felt relaxed until I finished the race.

Men’s 5000m Winner – Sid Vaughn (Georgia)

On his victory: It was a good race. It's always a little warmer here but we had pretty good conditions, a lot better than I thought we'd have coming in. That was nice, the wind wasn't too bad. A lot of great competitors in that race that really made it happen. I had my teammate for like six and a half, seven laps pacing it and so he did a great job, Bryan Kamal. He won the 15 earlier too so a great double from him.

Friday, March 31

Men’s Discus Section B Winner – Caleb Fricke (Purdue)

On winning the event: It started out last couple of weeks ago when it was our opener, I did pretty bad and I wasn't very happy with my technique. The power throw is starting to come together. I'm coming back from an injury right now so it's nice to go over 53 again. But at this point I'm happy for the rest of the season, I think it's a good turning point at this meet.

On competing at the Texas Relays: It's really awesome. I've been at Oregon once but other than that, this doesn't compare to anything else. It's just a great atmosphere for throwing right here in the middle of the stadium with all these people. Just a great feeling.

Men’s Shot Put Section B Winner – Jacob Barents (South Dakota)

On winning the event: It felt great. First big meet I've been to like this. Definitely a special experience.

On competing at the Texas Relays: I love it. It couldn't get any better honestly.

Men’s Long Jump Section B Winner – Trumaine Jefferson (Houston)

On competing at the Texas Relays: The vibe is very good, very good. I like it. It's very positive. It feels good out here.

Women’s High Jump Section B Winner – LaTyria Jefferson (Kansas)

On winning the event: It felt good. I wasn't expecting it. I'm a little tired

On competing at the Texas Relays: I love it. I'm from Texas, so I love the weather. I love being back home.

Women’s Pole Vault Section B Winner – Allison Koressel (Chula Vista Elite)

On winning the event: It was great. The conditions couldn't have been better. I wish I could've made that bar. I was pretty close, and that would've been a season best and personal best. So it would've been great, and it was the beginning of the day, so I'm a little disappointed that I didn't make it. But it couldn't have been a better meet.

On competing at the Texas Relays: I love it. I haven't been here in four years, and it's even better than the last time I came. It's just a really exciting meet. There are fans here and everyone's just happy to be watching track. It's really motivating with everyone cheering.

Women’s Long Jump Section B Winner – Angelica Collins (Clemson)

On winning the event: It could've been better. It definitely should've been better. My coach is making me an athlete that's hungrier and hungrier every time I go to another track meet. I've always had that hunger in me, but now it's time for me to display what I can do. I came from a junior college in Kansas, so being out here, it just shows that no matter where you come from, you can make it. I came from a struggle too, so it's like, no matter where you're from, no matter where you're going, it doesn't predict your future. You can do whatever you want to do.

Women’s Javelin Winner – Ariana Ince (Unattached)

On the win: It's a good start to the season, this is my season opener. I train with pretty much the Texas A&M girls and Maggie (unattached Maggie Malone, placed third) so it was fun to be more than half of the final.

On competing at the Texas Relays with familiar competitors: It was really funny at one point, we were all just standing up waiting for him to coach us one by one. But I think that was just testament to the work of those girls and his coaching technique.

Boys’ Pole Vault Section B Winner – Tyler Stafford (Tomball)

On winning the event: It was definitely a goal to push through to win. I came in from 5 meets in the season that were really rough, and I came out here knowing i wasn't going to win unless I cleared 16. And that was the ultimate goal, if I did that i knew in my mind I would win.

On competing in Texas Relays: Nothing compares to it. its the best track, best conditions you could ever ask for. There's a smoking tailwind today, the track is bouncy enough, its just the best.

Men’s Triple Jump Section B Winner – Casey Burns (Washington)

On winning the event: It felt great. Coming off a hamstring pull last year, tough season, it felt good to get the win.

On competing at the Texas Relays: It's an honor to be out here. This is the stuff you go and you see it as a kid and you think, 'I'll never be there.' Everybody's kind of star-struck by each other. It's awesome. The atmosphere is crazy. There are all these elite athletes out here. Carl Lewis is out here. I'm honored.

Men’s High Jump Section B Winner – Garrett Cragin (Texas A&M)

On winning the event: It was great. I had never jumped well in Austin. I think my highest was 6-7 until today. So it felt good to get that off my back.

On competing at the Texas Relays: It's a lot of fun. It's really good competition from all over the country.

Women’s Triple Jump Winner – Lajarvia Brown (Texas A&M)

On the win: I thought it went pretty well, but the wind was just a big factor. I just didn't get as many jumps in as I'd wanted, a lot of fouls but I was pleased with the mark that I did get in.

Girls’ Discus Winner – Zada Swoopes (Whitewright)

On the win: I think it went great today, I just had fun and came out here and did what I love to do.

On competing at the Texas Relays in Austin: It feels good. It just shows that all my hard work has paid off. Just came here to show why that I'm good at what I do.

Women’s Triple Jump Winner – Iana Amsterdam (Clemson)

On winning: I feel overwhelmed. This is the best jump series I have ever had so I feel very very blessed right now.

On participating in Texas Relays: I am just trying to have fun because this is my last one. Normally when I come here I try to be more serious and make a good mark but this time I just tried to have fun and as you can see it worked!

Men’s Triple Jump Winner – Matthew O’Neal (unattached)

On competing in Texas Relays: It is always a blessing to be able to come out and compete. On winning the event: It felt great winning today. We knew we had to go out there and compete, and we went out there and did it. Our goal was to be number one, and that's what we got today. – Zavier Johnson

On competing at Texas Relays: Coming to UT has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid. I never would have thought that I was going to get this moment but it was great coming out here. It was my dream, I knew I had to come out here and do what I had to do. – Joe Austin

Boys’ High Jump Winner – Michael Tolds (Manvel)

On winning: It was exciting because usually I always win but today got my heart beating.

Women’s Sprint Medley Winner – Diamond Spaulding, Jaevin Reed, Kadecia Baird, Jazmine Fray (Texas A&M)

On how the team performed: We performed well. We really put on a show for everybody to watch because we weren't in the front in the race and then our last leg took it over and closed the gap.

Men’s Sprint Medley Winner – Fred Kerley, Elijah Morrow, Mylik Kerley, Devin Dixon (Texas A&M)

On the race and performance: For the most part we all performed well. We did exactly what coach wanted us to do. We came out, we handled business, and we have to get prepared for tomorrow.

Girls’ 1600m Winner – Gracie Morris (Aledo)

On how she feels winning at the Texas Relays: It's really cool. It gives me a lot more confidence. It's my first Texas Relays, I am a freshman. I have been to big meets before. I have been running since second grade.

Girls’ 300m Hurdles Winner – Jurnee Woodward (Vacaville)

On her performance: I feel like my confidence has been boosted from being out here. I am running 41's consistently. To come out here and compete, it's a big win.

Women’s 400m Hurdles Winner – Kymber Payne (LSU)

On the race and getting the win: I am very proud to get the win. In practice I have been having trouble in my pattern step so today I was very worried about it because yesterday in the prelims I struggled with three hurdles. Coming off the 800 I thought to myself "I got this."

Men’s 400m Hurdles Winner – A.J. Boully (Utah State)

On the race and performance: Something I have been really been preparing for is racing against great competition. You don't get many opportunities to run against top-tier schools. We have to take all the opportunities we can. Going into this race, I knew that if I raced them the way they ran, I would never win. So I just went with what I knew. As long as I am within 10 or 20 meters I know I can catch up and beat 'em. That was our whole game plan; be really consistent.

On performance today: We wanted to go out there and five it our best. Our coach told us what we needed to do, go out there and run to win.

On winning an event at Texas Relays: It feels good. Last year we won this event so we wanted to try to do it again. It feels great to come back and win again.

Boys’ Discus Winner – Gabriel Oladipo (Fort Bend Hightower)

On winning the event: I feel great. It hasn't really hit me yet. I have been coming here since my sophomore year and this is the first time I could pull out a win and I'm a senior. I'm ecstatic right now.

On his series of throws: Today it wasn't the conditions for the big throw I wanted. I just broke the state record last weekend and I was trying to get a bigger throw today but unfortunately the weather wasn't having it.

Boys’ 1600m Winner – Daniel Viegra (Pflugerville Hendrickson)

On coming back to Texas Relays: I missed out last year because of an injury but I was here my sophomore year. I definitely put on a great showing today. There are a lot of great competitors here so it's a fun experience out here.

Boys’ 300m Hurdles Winner – Eric Edwards (Langham Creek)

Men’s Javelin Winner – Ioannis Kyriazis (Texas A&M)

On winning Texas Relays: I am pretty excited. I won last year so I just wanted to improve. I am happy. It is the first meet of the year so honestly, I didn't care about throwing it far I just wanted to throw close to the extender of the world and just stay healthy.

Girls’ Long Jump Winner – Kynnedy Flannel (Alvin)

On competing today: It felt good. It is a challenge jumping at night though because I had events earlier today. It was a little up and down, the wind was sideways, I had to adjust a lot.

Men’s Distance Medley Winner – Dajour Braxton, Michael Cherry, Jack Wilkes, Blair Henderson (LSU)

On winning at the Texas Relays: It was a battle throughout all four legs. I was just happy that I was able to execute a great race for the rest of my team, because I knew that we had a great shot of winning. We’re a talented group of guys and the field is very competitive; it wasn’t just us and Texas A&M. Today we had the best two races and great performances. – Michael Cherry

Girls’ High Jump Winner – Falyn Reaugh (Highland Park)

On her meet record-tying jump: It was awesome. I kept one-jumping the first few jumps and kept feeling great, and then when I got to 5'10", I thought "I'm going to make it." Every time I step up there I think I'm going to make it because you have to have confidence. When I got to six feet, I just wanted to break the mark. I wanted to break the barrier so I said "I'm going to get it!" My first attempt at 6'1" felt very close, I nicked my heel on it.

Boys’ Javelin Winner – Tzuriel Pedigo (Parkview Baptist)

On his performance: It feels great. I can always take a W any time of day. I'm glad I set a meet record, but I'm always going to want more.

Girls’ Javelin Winner – Hailey Poole (Huntley Project [Montana])

On competing in Texas Relays: It's awesome to come down here and see the college throwers, watching the higher level competition really pumps you up before actually throwing. It is cool because I get to come down here from Montana and its nice and warm and I get to throw against competition I don't normally see.

Girls’ Distance Medley Winner – Brooke Lomax, Mallory Morgan, Olivia Einarsson, Abigail Brudnick (Katy)

On winning the event: It feels so good. We have either been second or third every year since freshman year, so finally getting the win senior year is awesome. We have plenty of silver and bronze medals but finally getting that longhorn head of gold feels so good. – Abigail Brudnick

Boys’ Distance Medley Winner – Thomas Wilfert, Josh Dowdy, John Turner, Jack Landgraf (Dana Hills [Calif.])

On overall performance: We all had a plan to go out there, we had some little things we had to change in the end. With all that, I think we did amazing. Obviously we still have things to improve on but we went out there and we did what we wanted to do especially on the road. We are from Cali it is always a little harder traveling but to get over that and have a big victory like this is amazing. – Jack Landgraf

Saturday, April 1

Girls’ 3200m Winner – London Culbreath (McKinney North)

On the win: I did have a lot of strategy going into this race and I was just trying to follow that as best as I could and improvising when it wasn't working.

On competing in the Texas Relays: It's amazing. This is my first time, I'm a freshman so it's a great first experience.

Boys’ 3200m Winner – Tanner Norman (Classical Academy)

On the win: I wasn't really sure about what to expect with the guys because I've never raced against hardly any of them, so I was coming into it blind. The goal was to dip under nine, I wasn't sure what the pace was going to be but a few laps in it fell off a little bit so I took over and decided to try and push it.

Girls' Pole Vault Section B Winner – Chloe’ Wall (Farmersville)

On her win: It feels awesome. I actually was here last year and I won a jump off too, so it was really exciting to be able to come again and be able to reach my new PR and be jumping good these past few meets. It's been great.

Women's Discus Section B Winner - Serena Brown (Texas A&M)

On her win: This is my first time at Texas Relays so it was a different experience and I feel really good about it. Hopefully there's better things to come. I'm just excited to be here.

Boys' 4x800m Relay Winner - Peter Johnson, Ilyas Balakishiyeva, Preston Wilschetz, Cole Wilschetz (Plano West)

Men’s 4x800m Winner - Oliver Lloyd, Mpho Makofane, Terrell Jackson, John Lewis (Clemson)

On the win: We worked together, so one, I didn't want to give up, because yesterday I got caught when I took the lead yesterday. I wanted to make up for that. I ran a little bit smarter yesterday, so I've just got to be happy with that. My coach wanted me to run smart. That's what I was saying in my head, just to run smart and be able to finish. And the finish was there. – John Lewis

On the win: We're just really excited. We had one of our freshmen in the SMR the other night and it didn't go as planned, so it's exciting to put it all together to try to win one. I'm a senior and we've never won a relay here, so just all fighting for each other and fighting for that. – Morgan Schuetz

Women's High Jump winner - Zarriea Willis (Texas Tech)

On her win: I'm proud of myself, but not that proud because I let my mentality kind of not get over on the last bar. It's just a mental block on a six-foot bar and I need to get past that.

On the win: It’s pretty great. I have come here the past three years and won every time. Today I didn't do as well, I know people probably think I did, but I am just trying to PR and that was not it.

This is one of the best crowds you’ll get all year for running here in the US.

Boys’ 110m Hurdles HS D1 Winner - Remington Crossnoe (Bushland)

On the win: It felt really good. I am a little upset with the time but that's to be expected because I messed up my first two hurdles. I am just really glad I came back for the win from that.

On competing at Texas Relays: It’s amazing. I have only been here one other time at state last year. I should have been here at this time last year but I pulled my hip flexer, so I am really glad I got to come out here and compete.

On the win: I just wanted to come out here and execute to the best of my ability and I feel like I did so. It’s been a real quiet season for me as far as in the media and stuff. Girls’ 100m HS D1 Winner - Sha'Carri Richardson (Dallas Carter)

On two great times at Texas Relays: It feels amazing especially with the 100. I came to this meet wanting to prove something to myself. These past years at Texas Relays my open wasn't the best memories. So I used that to prove something to myself.

Boys 100m HS D1 Winner - Joe Williams (Bremond)

On his win: It felt good. I came out last year and I got second, so I knew I needed to get first this year.

On Texas Relays: It feels real good. The atmosphere is great. Great to see everyone out here supporting everyone at Texas Relays.

Women's Discus Winner - Elena Bruckner (Texas)

On the win: I started getting a little nervous because in high school I did have a lot of marks about that school record. I was little inconsistent because I didn't know exactly what I was doing technique wise and then coming in this year after indoor season we started to change a lot of thing with my technique. The marks weren't necessarily as far as I wanted but this meet I wanted to not focus on the other throwers distances and focus on what I can do and what I can do because I can't control how far they throw, I can only control how much effort and the technique I stick to.

On which was harder? Beating the record today or singing the Nation Anthem yesterday: Oh my goodness, singing the National Anthem absolutely! I was so nervous, not to sing, but there was a lag with the microphone time and the voice coming out so I really had to focus and keep my timing. I sang the National Anthem a lot in high school for volleyball games and stuff, and I have always enjoyed singing.

Boys 100m HS D2 Winner - Joseph Sheffield (Garland Rowlett)

On his race: I saw that he was right on my hip so what I was thinking was just stay relaxed, do not mess up the shot. You only have one shot, so just stay relaxed all the way through.

On the win: It felt amazing. With A&M beating us in the 4x100 and 4x200, I just felt like I had to come out here and really compete. I battled and there was a lot of competition but it was a great win.

On competing at Texas Relays: I love it. This is home to me. I competed here at state and at Texas relays and I love coming back here and being able to run, compete, and have fun.

Men's Pole Vault Elite Winner - Armand Duplantis (Lafayette HS)

On his win and setting record: Usually I go into meets not really focusing quite on the competition, just more on myself, and trying to not better the competition with myself. Really just trying to beat my own PB every meet I can. So the win is nice, but I think the PB is more valuable.

Men's High Jump Winner - Trey Culver (Texas Tech)

On keeping consistency throughout the season: First thing, glory to god. I'm just happy to be here, thankful to be here on this stage. This is a dream, being a Texas kid. I'm just thankful for everything.

Men's 100m Winner - Kendal Williams (Georgia)

On the win: All the hard work that I've been putting in in practice feels like it's finally starting to pay off, I'm starting to see it when I'm out there on race day. So it's definitely a good feeling but I still feel like there's a lot of work to be done. especially for the rest of the year if I'm going to be running even faster at the end of it.

Men's Mile Winner - Samuel Worley (Comal Canyon)

On winning at Texas Relays: It makes me really excited. It just shows me that the things I'm doing everyday are working, and if I keep being consistent, I keep working hard everyday, I can have success. It just means a lot. Especially for this to be at my future track, home turf, I felt some kind of pride coming here. I saw Bevo today so I felt like that was some good luck there. I knew it was going to be a special day.

Women's 200m Invite Winner - Natasha Hastings (Under Armour/NYAC)

On being back at Texas Relays: I've kind of lost count of how many times I've run here. It's been a few years since I've been coming. It's a great atmosphere and I know it's going to be some great competition, so it's a great way for me to set up my season and kind of put things inter perspective with training going forward. It's exciting to always come out with a win though.

Men's 200m Invite Winner - Wallace Spearmon (Team Boss Hogs)

On being at Texas Relays: Honestly this is my favorite domestic meet. This is my favorite meet actually probably in the world. I mean the crowd participation is crazy. I remember coming here as a freshman and hearing the "woop" and I had only run at Arkansas and I didn't know what that meant. But as you get older, you learn to love it. So if you're behind and catching someone, it's a boost of energy. If you're in front, you should probably pick it up a little bit. The environment is awesome. Team USA has great support. I love that they have the youth here with the high school kids. They've got the colleges here. It's probably one of the only sports in the world where you have youth all the way to pros at one track meet and one event participating. As long as I'm healthy I'll be here. As long as I'm invited.

Men's 4x400 Winner - Houston

On winning: It's unbelievable and it's also a blessing to be able to do such a thing. Being able to come to Texas Relays, compete with some of the best in D1 Track & Field, it's a blessing. To run with four guys at all, that all are willing to do the same thing, and won't settle for anything less than a W. I'm enjoying it and I'm loving it. Feels great. - Amere Lattin

Women's 100m Invitational Winner - Morolake Akinoson (Nike)

On competing at the Texas relays with her old turf and crowd: I never really come back home, I stayed home. I still train on this track but it is running at home for me. It's a great feeling, I love this meet and it is my favorite meet in the entire year.

On how the race went: It was a great run for me, it was my opening race. I didn't get to run the relay earlier so it was my first outdoor race of the season and my first race since the USA's about a month ago now, so it felt really good.

On winning at Texas Relays: It's my third year here so every time we come we've been third, second, and for the first time we took first so I'm excited. I'm happy. Beyond happy, I don't even know the words to explain it. - Helensia Green

Men's 4x400m Relay Winner – Texas A&M

Thoughts on competing and winning in the Texas Relays: Competing at the Texas Relays, like I said earlier, it's always electric here. Women's 4x400 University Winner - USC

On winning at Texas Relays: It's our first time coming out to Texas Relays, so being in this atmosphere, this environment, was really fun. To be able to end out the meet with a W was nice, real fun. - Deanna Hill

Men's Pole Vault Winner - Torben Laudig (Virginia Tech)

On winning at Texas Relays: It feels awesome. The conditions obviously today were great. Had Armando break a World Junior record today too, so obviously something's right. I like how they run a meet here, it's fast, and I love being here.

Men's 4x400 Univ/Coll Winner - Utah State

On winning at Texas Relays: We don't have many opportunities to race against top-tier talent, so when we get the chance, it's always not against the best but we do have to prove ourselves. We really rise to the level of competition we're put against. Put us against anybody, we'll give them a run for their money. - AJ Boully

Women's Long Jump winner - Savannah Carson (Purdue)

On the win at the Texas Relays: I enjoy it, it's a great competition here. Really I was trying to make sure that my runway approach was on point because I changed it, so I was just trying to make sure my rhythm was correct.

Men's Shot Put Winner - Oghenakpobo Efekoror (Virginia)

Thoughts on winning and competing in Texas Relays: It's a huge honor to compete here at Texas Relays. A lot of great performances here at a big stage. I'm honored to be here you know. I was hoping to open up past 18 meters; I just finished a long campaign indoors but overall very satisfied with performance of a new outdoor PR at the first meet of the season. I am still deep in training in the weight room so I think there's going to be great things that'll take place at the end of the season but I am really happy now it's time to go back to Charlottesville and do a lot of schoolwork.

Men's long jump winner - Charles Brown (Texas Tech)

On the win: Coming in at first I thought that there was going to many illegal jumps, just because of how strong the wind was. But the first few jumps of the competition, I thought that all of them were pretty illegal and even for the women's side. So I knew that I had the potential to go out far, I've had a lot of big jumps in the past. So I came in with the wind at my back hoping that I could jump big today and I set a big PR.

Thoughts on the win and competing at the Texas Relays: I've been competing at Texas Relays for seven years so this is just awesome coming back here and winning the shot put my senior year in college. It's a great atmosphere and you know it's just great to comeback and do a good job in shot put so it's always awesome here.
