Britain was ruled by The Celts until they were invaded by The Romans in 43 AD. The Romans came to Britain looking for riches, land, slaves and most of Britain's metal. Only roman boys over the age of 20 could be soldiers. They had to be roman citizens. Boudicca was the queen of the Iceni who led a revolt against the occupying Romans, in 61 AD. This failed and she died shortly afterwards. The Roman Emperor, Hadrian built Hadrian's Wall , which marked the northern limit of Roman territory in Britain . The Romans leave Britain to go and protect their own homes in Italy who were under attack by fierce tribes.
