Spanning five blocks in the heart of San Francisco’s prime commercial district, EMBARCADERO CEN-TER is one of the largest mixed-use complexes in the Western United States. With a unique history, Em-barcadero Center offers four million square feet of office and retail space. It is comprised of four office towers with three of them being interconnected shop-ping levels. Known for its diverse business and enter-tainment facilities, the Center features more than 70 retail shops and restaurants, a five-screen cinema and many other services to meet your every need.

“UNION SQUARE” refers to the central shopping, hotel, and theatre district that surrounds the plaza for several blocks. The area got its name because it was once used for rallies and support for the Union Army during the Civil War. Today, this one-block plaza and nearby area is one of the world’s premier shopping districts filled with department stores, upscale boutiques, tourist trinket shops, art galler-ies, and salons.

The MISSION DISTRICT, commonly called “The Mission” is a neighbor-hood in San Francisco named after the Alta California mission, Mission San Francisco de Asis. The Mission is the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco and was initially used to evangelize to the local Ohlone Indians.

On our tour, we visit the art deco-styled COIT TOW-ER located in the TELEGRAPH HILL neighborhood. Built in 1933, at the bequest of Lillie Hitchcock Coit, it’s interior has 26 murals by multiple artists and is intended to “add to the beauty of the city which I have always loved”.

Since CHINATOWN'S establishment in the 1840’s, this city-within-a-city has become the largest of its kind outside of China. Visitors can easily become im-mersed in this microcosmic Asian world, filled with herbal shops, temples, pagoda roofs and dragon pa-rades. In addition to being a starting point and home for thousands of Chinese immigrants, it is also a ma-jor tourist attraction – drawing more visitors annually to the neighborhood than the Golden Gate Bridge.

SAUSALITO is the perfect gateway to west Marin County and the California coastline as well as the wonders of the wine country. Visit HAIGHT ASH-BURY and CASTRO STREET to take in the local flair of San Francisco.

Take a break from the city life and enjoy the MUIR WOODS NATIONAL MONUMENT. Dedicated in 1908, this park is north of San Francisco and home to 240 acres of old-growth coastal redwood sequoias, one of the tallest species of tree in the world.

The GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE was the longest suspen-sion bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937, and has become one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and of the United States.

Set along San Francisco’s historic waterfront, TEATRO ZINZANNI is a bewitching evening of European Caba-ret and Cirque, Divas and Madmen, Spectacle and Sen-suality with live music and a gourmet five-course din-ner-set in the night-club of your dreams! You will talk about this world-class troupe long after your trip!

The San Francisco CABLE CAR system is the world’s last permanently operational

manually operated cable car system, and is truly an icon of San Francisco. Enjoy an old-fashioned trip by cable car to one of the cities most significant tourist sites (TBA).

San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in Californiaand the 13th most populous city in the United States, with a2010 estimated population of 805,235. San Francisco is thefinancial, cultural, and transportation center of the San Fran-cisco Bay Area, a region of more than 7.4 million peoplewhich includes San Jose and Oakland.

In 1776, the Spanish established a fort at the Golden Gate and a mission named for Francis of Assisi on thesite. The California Gold Rush in 1848 propelled the city into a period of rapid growth, increasing the popula-tion in one year from 1,000 to 25,000, and thus transforming it into the largest city on the West Coast at thetime. After three-quarters of the city was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and fire, San Francisco wasquickly rebuilt, hosting the Panama-Pacific International Exposition nine years later. During World War II, SanFrancisco was the port of embarkation for service members shipping out to the Pacific Theater. After the war,the confluence of returning servicemen, massive immigration, liberalizing attitudes, and other factors led SanFrancisco to become a center of liberal activism in the United States.

Today, San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination, renowned for its chilly summer fog, steeprolling hills, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the GoldenGate Bridge, cable cars, and Chinatown. The city is also a principal banking and finance center, and thehome to more than 30 international financial institutions, helping to make San Francisco eighteenth place inthe world's top producing cities, and ninth in the United States.

Upon our arrival, our step-on guide will greet us before we depart for a city tour of this amazing city, and it’smany fantastic attractions.

Golden Gate Park, located in San Francisco, California, is a large urban park consisting of 1,017 acres ofpublic grounds. It is over three miles long east to west, and about half a mile north tosouth. With 13 million visitors annually, Golden Gate is the third most visited city park in the United States af-ter Central Park in New York City and Lincoln Park in Chicago.

Alcatraz and history go hand in hand. Once home to some of America's most notori-ous criminals, the federal penitentiary that operated here from 1934 to 1963 brought adark mystique to the Rock. The presence of infamous inmates like Al "Scarface" Ca-pone, and the "Birdman" Robert Stroud helped to establish the island's notoriety. Tothis day, Alcatraz is best known as one of the world's most legendary prisons.

Many people, though, are unaware of the wealth of other stories to be learned on the island. Alcatraz is nowhome to rare flowers and plants, marine wildlife, and thousands of roosting and nesting sea birds. Civil War-era buildings dotting the island give insight into the 19th century when the island served as both a harbor de-fense fort and a military prison. You can also see visible reminders of the American Indian Occupation thatstarted in 1969 after the prison closed, highlighting an important milestone in the American Indian rightsmovement.

Spanning five blocks in the heart of San Francisco's prime commercial dis-trict, Embarcadero Center is one of the largest mixed-use complexes in theWestern United States. With a unique history, Embarcadero Center offersfour million square feet of office and retail space. It is comprised of four of-fice towers, and three interconnected shopping levels within four towers.Known for its diverse business and entertainment facilities, the Center fea-tures more than 70 retail shops and restaurants, a five-screen cinema andmany other services to meet your every need.

On Jan. 9, 1908, Pres. Theodore Roosevelt signed legislation establishing Muir WoodsNational Monument. Sausalito is a San Francisco Bay Area city, situated near the north-ern end of the Golden Gate Bridge. Prior to the building of thatbridge, Sausalito served as a terminus for rail, car and ferry traffic.

It is adjacent to, and largely bounded by, the protectedspaces of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning theGolden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pa-cific Ocean. Despite its span length being surpassed by eight other bridgessince its completion, it still has the second longest suspension
