Parish News and EventsOur Mission

St. John Neumann is a welcoming community committed to witnessing to Jesus Christ through Sacraments, word and deed.

This is our mission at St. John Neumann – to welcome others, and to do the work that Jesus is asking us to do in our community.

How are you living the mission in your families, in your places of work or school, and in our community? How are you living this mission within our parish? We know there are many who are living the mission! Please take a moment to share the good news of your efforts. Send a note to [email protected] to let us know how you are using your gifts and talents to further this mission.

You will be hearing more about our parish mission, and about learning how to identify your unique gifts, in the weeks to come. We want to encourage you to know your gifts and to use them to benefit your families, friends, co-workers and others.

Our condolences and prayers to the Walzak family. Becky Snyder, mother of Shelley Walzak, passed away on January 29th. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her.

PARISH GIVING SUMMARYParishioners and visitors made a joyful offering to the Lord in

gratitude for the many gifts we have received from God.February 2: $19,093.05

~ COLLECTION COUNTERS ~February 9: Marilyn Mansell, Steve Barbeau, Caitlyn KonkoFebruary 16: Terri Eierman, David Pifher, Rick Niese

Mission of the Seventy-TwoAs we are in the midst of Ordinary Time, let us remember when Jesus called the Apostles to be fishers of men; when they dropped everything, including their former lives to follow Him. Let us embrace our faith as disciples to personally reach out to non-practicing Catholics to bring them back to the faith. As disciples of the Good Shepherd, let us instill in our family and friends who have been away from the church that God is the most important aspect of their lives and proclaim to them the good news of the Gospel. Let us follow the example of the shepherd and be loving examples of our faith, so as to encourage others to want what we have – a relationship with the Lord. May God be with you and bless you in your mission. For further information on this ministry, and suggestions for starting the conversation with those who have stopped going to Mass, visit www.saintjohnsunbury.org.

Pray for Those in the Service

Please continue to remember our military and their families in your prayers.

Lord Jesus, Savior of the World and King of Peace, watch over our sons and daughters in the service of their country. Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life. Keep them close to You and help them live the commandments. Lord Jesus, give them the courage to serve their country with honor and dignity. Be with them when they are in danger; strengthen them when they face hardships. Above all, Lord, grant that when their service is finished, they may return to us sound in body and soul. Amen.
