Educational Innovation and Curriculum Development

1. GI Core Curriculum for GI Fellowship Program, UNC School of Medicine

• Developed repeating lecture series for GI fellows to be delivered weekly to GI fellows • Cycle repeats every 3 years to allow all fellows to hear all content at least once during fellowship • Began July 2010, ongoing

2. Jackson Memorial Medical Center/University of Miami School of Medicine Gastroenterology Sub-Specialty Residency, GI Physiology Core Curriculum

• Co-created and co-wrote final examination that reviewed all basic GI physiology and lectures given over course of academic year

• Began April 2004, continued on annual basis.

3. GI Core Curriculum lecture series, Jackson Memorial Hospital Internal Medicine residency program.

Madanick Curriculum Vitae 11

• Occurs twice annually, once at Jackson Memorial Hospital, once at Miami VA Hospital, beginning in July 2005

• Month-long lecture series (12-15 1-hour lectures) given by UM GI faculty and senior GI fellows to fulfill RRC requirements

• Coordinated first 3 lecture series (JMH July 2005, Miami VAMC January 2006, Miami VAMC Sept 2006)

4. Jackson Memorial Gastroenterology Fellows’ Continuity Clinic

• Reorganized entire clinic so that fellows would have a continuity clinic experience • Prior to July 2004, patients attending JMH GI clinic saw any of the fellows who were present

during that session. • With reorganization, each fellow was scheduled to have a weekly clinic session with own panel of

continuity patients • Because of multiple rotation sites and 2 different continuity clinics (JMH and VAMC), coverage for

both clinics was arranged, as well as coverage for all hospitals during clinic times

5. Jackson Memorial Medical Center/University of Miami School of Medicine Gastroenterology Sub-Specialty Residency Curriculum

• In July 2004, co-wrote updated curriculum for ACGME review
