This role was taken up for multiple purpose, one of which was to gain experience in health and social care settings and see at first hand the amount of multidimensional work which is required to keep a hospital running smoothly with effective health care for patients. The other was a personal reason which was simply to give back to the community as I feel the spirit of charitable work and giving is something which the masses of our consumerist and capitalised society have lost. This role allowed me to provide patients and relatives with polite conversation and refreshments, I also established team work ethics by helping out as much as I could within my power.
