Tidal or non-Tidal?


Tidal or non-Tidal:

From 2017 recognition will no longer distinguish between tidal

and non-tidal centres

• All Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper practical courses must cover ‘tidal’ considerations

– Boat handling in moving water

– Allowing for set and drift during navigation and pilotage

– Importance of researching tidal gates when passage planning

– Vertical datum and tidal heights

• The concepts must be covered

• Wherever possible practically applied
