As June is the first month of our Winter season we look for- ward to continued good health and wellbeing. We are aware that you have all been staying connected and using your ingenuity to continue fundraising and supporting your Learning for Life students. We are de- lighted that you are all supporting each other during this time of COVID-19. In many States/Territories restrictions are slowly being re- laxed, which means that VIEW Clubs will be able to soon return to their normal club meeting schedules. Guide- lines for VIEW Clubs operating post COVID-19 will soon be made available for all clubs, preparing you all for the “new normal” of practising good hygiene and social distancing. At this stage plans are still proceeding for our Sydney 60th Anniversary Celebrations – The Diamond Jubilee High Tea – “A conversation with Ita Buttrose” who is look- ing forward to sharing our special event on Friday 30 October 2020, as is Denise Scott (Comedian/Entertainer) for “All that Sparkles” Gala Dinner on the same night. We look forward to seeing many of you at these special events. We have been busily thinking of ideas to celebrate the month of June and share some interesting trivia: What a great country we live in, surrounded by inspirational people both now and in our past. Enjoy the month of June which is National Fruit and Vegeta- ble month! Keep warm, keep safe and keep eating plenty of fruit and veggies! CRUSHED PINEAPPLE FRUIT CAKE 500 g mixed dried fruit—440 g (crushed) canned pineapple—1 cup sugar—125 g butter chopped—1 tsp mixed spice—1/2 tsp ground cinnamon—1 tsp bicarbonate of soda—2 eggs beaten—1 cup self-raising flour –1 cup plain flour 1. Place fruit, crushed pineapple including juice, butter, sugar

and spices in saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes. 2. Add bicarbonate of soda. Turn off heat and allow to cool. 3. Add eggs and flour. 4. Preheat oven 160C. Pour into a prepared cake tin and

bake for 40 minutes. 5. Remove from oven, cover with foil and and return to

bake for a further 50 minutes
