Class Description & Lesson Purpose Reading, Writing, and Grammar 6 at the American

English Institute prepares international students for studying at the University of Oregon. The RWG6 class meets for 12 hours each week, so this slideshow is only a small part of one day’s lesson. Normally, a PPT lesson would incorporate all parts: Reading, Writing, and Grammar. This particular class is made up of two Arabs, many Asians, and one African. There is also an equal number of females and males in the classroom.

The purpose of this mini-lesson is to increase the number of words student read per minute through timed (or speed) readings while also practicing reading skills with comprehension questions.
