Hello! Welcome to a very special feature related to Ruth’s (un)Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge! Today for your reading and viewing enjoyment, I am pleased to present pictures of Ruth in her professional capacity: all twelve contralto roles from Gilbert & Sullivan’s operettas, complete with character’s name, operetta title, and a quote of the song she is singing. (Although Gilbert & Sullivan wrote fourteen operettas, there is no information available about the contralto role -- or if one existed -- in Thespis, and Trial By Jury has no solo contralto role.) Many of these songs are actually duets, but the pictures are all solo. I’ve included information about the custom content used in each shot for those who are interested.
