Life at Lesnoe OzeroThe villagers will live, learn and make new friends in our beautiful Village with handcrafted log cabins and in a forest that resembles northern Russia. Counselors engage villagers with language using songs, games and gestures to increase understanding and retention.

Camp Activities Can Include:
Fantastic Russian FoodEach meal is culturally authentic and is cooked from scratch. Villagers start out with a traditional Russian soup, followed by vegetables such as beets or carrots and a main dish such as dumplings or shish kabobs with fresh-baked bread served on the side.
Special ProgramsThe Heritage Program at Lesnoe Ozero is for students who were
raised in a Russian-speaking environment and have some command
of spoken Russian. The curriculum is specifically designed to focus
on the unique needs of these heritage speakers, with the goals of
bringing the language of our heritage students closer to that of their
grade-level peers in Russia and increasing students' cultural literacy
through art, literature, folk tales, history, music, politics and science.
