Staff Welcome back to all our Staff. We welcome new to our team, Deborah Sunshine who is teaching in Te Matatini, Bronnie Kidd ( Teacher Aide) working with senior students at SIT TEC and we welcome back Hera Fisher who is

teaching in WVP 1. Great to have you as part of our Ruru Team. Staff participated in 3 days of Professional Learning in the last week of the holidays focusing on our Cultural Competence: including Te Tiriti O Waitangi, Communication, Safe Crisis Management and Acceptance and Commitment Theory.

WOW! What an awesome first week of school. Our tamariki at Salford have settled straight back into routine beautifully, are working hard on IEPs and have enjoyed lots of fun activities and sensory play! We have learnt about Waitangi Day and made our very own class treaty together. Have a lovely weekend!

Verdon Juniors Verdon Senior

We have had a great first week back at school at Verdon. We would like to welcome our 4

new students and their families and our new Teacher Aide, Jonathon. This week we have been getting to know each other and setting

into routines. On Tuesday we made scones and then went for a walk around the

Velodrome. On Friday we joint the rest of Verdon Collage for their beginning of year Mass

and House Picnics. It was a fun day. Verdon Juniors

We have all enjoyed our 1st week back at Verdon Senior. Welcome to our new seniors, Nevaeh, Caleb, Ryan, and Tyler. This week we have enjoyed a short week with Waitangi Day on Thursday. We made omelettes for food tech and finished the week with the Verdon College Mass and House picnic . Have a great weekend.

WVP SIT-TEC

Kia Ora Everyone, WVP have welcomed our 2020 start to school with lots of happiness and enthusiasm. We are all settling into our classrooms and are prepared for learning and reaching our goals set for Term 1 and 2020. We have been learning about Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi) and the 3 Principles. We shared something special to commemorate Waitangi Day. SIT Tec has had a fantastic start to the year. We welcomed 8 new students and 2 new staff to our team. We celebrated Nicholas Graham’s 21st with a special morning tea on Wednesday. We have started our ICP programme and done some team building activities.

Welcome back everyone! The therapy team has had a great week visiting classes and setting up programs for the term. It’s been lovely to see so many happy, smiling students. Its only week one and we have been amazed at all of the progress already happening! Students have jumped right back into routines, and there is some really incredible communication happening around the school. Keep up the great work everyone!!
