Running the Race of Your Life

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with

endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher

of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand

of the throne of God.” {Hebrews 12:1,2}

• Everyone is invited to run the race.–“Come to Me, all you who labor and

are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” {Matthew 11:28-30}


• In order to run the race, you must enter the race.– “So then faith comes by hearing, and

hearing by the word of God.” {Romans 10:17}

– “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” {John 8:24}


• In order to run the race, you must enter the race.

– “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.” {Acts 17:30}

CHRIST Will Judge the Race

“He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him--the word that I have

spoken will judge him in the last day.” {John 12:48}

finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” {2 Timothy 4:7,8}

– “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” {1 Corinthians 15:58}

rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.” {Philippians 2:16}

– “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” {1 Corinthians 9:27}
