4.a CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT

Assessment and evaluation processes happen in a continuous mode. However, for

reporting purposes, a semester is divided into 3 discrete components identified as C1,

C2 and C3.

4.b The performance of a candidate in B.Sc. /BCA course is assessed as follows:

The first component, C1 assessment is for 10%. This will be based on written test

conducted during the 8th week of the semester. 50% of the syllabus shall be completed

in this period.

The second component, C2 assessment is for 10%. This will be based on test/

assignment / seminar during the 15th to 16th week of the semester.

The outline for continuous assessment activities for C1 and C2 will be decided in the

respective departmental council. The students shell be informed about the modalities

well in advance. The evaluated papers/assignments during C1 and C2 of assessment

shall be returned to the candidates after obtaining acknowledgement in the register

maintained by the concerned department. A minimum of 35% (C1+C2) marks is

mandatory to appear for C3 exam. A candidate has to score a minimum of 35% marks

in C3 and an aggregate of 40% marks (C1+C2+C3) for the successful completion of the

course.

During the 18th -20th week of the semester, a semester-end examination of 3 hours

(DSC/DSE/AECC) and two hours (SEC) duration shall be conducted for each course.

This forms the third/final component of assessment (C3) and the maximum marks for

the final component will be 80% of the marks assigned to the respective course.

However, candidate has to apply for the C3 examination in the prescribed format with

The outline for continuous assessment activities for C1 and C2 will decided in the

respective Departmental Council. The students shall be informed about the modalities

well in advance. The evaluated courses/assignments during C1 and C2 of assessment
