Rubio Monocoat (RMC) was specified for the interior wood finish for the feature staircase and oak veneer panels on the wall throughout this modern apartment. www.zsarchitects.co.za Testimonial: The Rubio Monocoat Range is known in the building industry as being one of the premier brands in its category. Most interior designers, joiners, and suppliers of engineered flooring, whom we deal with, are keen to use RMC. The colour selection range, and durability of the product, are known to exceed those of competitors’ products.- Neal Sachs - Lead Architect Project overview: The architect developed a natural, clean, contemporary design with a natural wooden interior finish for the floors and staircase. With Rubio Monocoat Invisible Oil, the wood preserved its beautiful natural element without any colour affecting its display. Solid wooden floors were installed in the open-plan living area of the ground floor leading into the open plan kitchen, which created a seamless look. The black metal edging of the staircase, and the natural color of the solid oak treads created a feature piece in the main open-plan living area. In addition, we used the darker, warmer hues of the Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C colours, in a blend of 50% Charcoal and 50 % Chocolate, for the joinery cladding at the staircase and on a feature wall area on the first floor. This finishing complimented the subtle color of the natural wooden floor. Product outline: RMC Oil Plus 2C Interior - Invisible RMC Oil Plus 2C Interior - 50% Charcoal; 50% Chocolate

Product overview: To guarantee a transparent finish and reliable protection for oak, and other types of light coloured wood, the RMC Invisible Oil System has been developed. It may look like the wood hasn’t been treated, but this oil system gives the wood a natural look while still guaranteeing lasting protection. The RMC Invisible Oil System combines the RMC Invisible Oil and the RMC Invisible Maintenance Oil for a wear- and stain-resistant result.

• Environmentally friendly: 0% VOC. • Does not contain any water or solvents. • No overlaps or starting marks. • Easy maintenance. • Can only be applied to sanded surface areas.

RMC Oil Plus 2C is a next-generation product that colour and protects your wood in 1 single layer. The combination of the oil and the accelerator ensures a quick dry, quick cure and superior protection.

• Available in 40 standard colours. Check also our Colour Trends for 2017.

• Enhances the natural look and feel of the wood.

• 0% VOC, does not contain any water or solvents.

• Easy to maintain. • No overlaps or starting marks. • Average coverage: 50 m²/L  • Can be applied to all wood types. • Very wear-resistant. • Water- and heat-resistant, ideal for kitchens

and bathrooms. • Very fast curing: 80% in 2 days.

Challenges overcome: • Finding a suitable tone /colour which

works with the palette envisaged by the architect on a specific project

• Protecting the timber floors (including panelling and joinery) from damage towards the end of the construction period.

• RMC beautifully displays the grain of the wood and it’s easy to apply with minimal maintenance required in the future.

Why choose Rubio Monocoat: • Cost Effective. A 2-part system of the

Invisible Oil application was used, without the need for pre-colours, thereby saving costs on the labour and material.
