RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Building Team Values at DELTA DOWNS

It can be hard to relate to the other kids at school when their dads come home nights, but yours has a job that takes him away for weeks and sometimes even months. dfs

Everyone likes to belong! Being part of a team is like being part of a family. Supporting each other can be fun when soccer is involved! This year’s 7th annual soccer tournament had four teams. The champions were the Central America team (El Salvador; Honduras and Guatemala) in picture left to right: Jose Abel; Ronald; Isaac; Chaplain Alberto; Jockey Eddie Cox ; sponsor, Abel; Alvaro Mora; Hugo; Eduardo; and Mario López. The true measure of success - the many smiling faces! “God bless everyone.”

Chaplain Alberto Martinez.

TRAINING UP CHILDREN Vacation Bible School at PENN NATIONAL

Activities such as Family Sports Night, Vacation Bible School, and a Labor Day Pig Roast are perfect settings to share God’s

grace, a healthy meal, a sense of community, and demonstrate the value of each individual! sdg Pastor Daryl Peter (dressed up as "Professor Paws") is a Children's Pastor at one of the local supporting churches. He and other volunteers from the church are conducting a Vacation Bible School for 5 consecutive Mondays at our Family Sports Night. Pastor Daryl is telling the story of the ten lepers (Luke 17:12-19) with the help of some of our children posing as lepers.

International Outreach Efforts

FOSTERING COMMUNITY Chaplains & Volunteers at Remington Park

How do Chaplains reach the lost for Christ…one by one through relationships!

Who could have known who the real winners would be on this day! On May 18th, Chaplain Carl Crisswell and Dalton Ford golfed in their tournament, while Dalton’s mom, Barbara Ford & RTCA Secretary Arnie Frazee, assisted with the registration. The following weekend Chap-lain Carl baptized Dalton with the help of his Dad, Victor Ford. There were two others bap-tized the same day. Talk about a “hole in one”...time to rejoice!

NOURISHMENT FOR

MIND, BODY & SOUL

A New Beginning at ELLIS PARK

Pride is a powerful emotion and one that makes it hard to admit that at times you may be hungry or lonely.

Chaplains provide spiritual and physical nourishment through weekly meals. Before the beginning of the summer meet at Ellis Park, Chaplain Ron Crawford had everybody together for fellowship and fun. The picnic was a great way to get re-connected on the backside.

ENCOURAGING FAMILIES Grateful Fathers at Belmont & Aqueduct

Chaplains welcome the support of Church Leaders in building strong

family units within the track community. s “Thanks to their Friends at Beacon Church and Lynbrook Bap-tist Church, Chaplains were able to surprise over 200 hard working fathers with a special gift bag on Father's Day! These men take pride in keeping their families together through the difficult racing season at Belmont and Aqueduct Race Track.” Chaplain Humberto Chavez.

When staff at the RTCA National Office learned of the devastating fire that struck our sister Chaplaincy in Chile on April 2nd, a call to action was sounded immediately! Thanks to the RTCA family network all across the United States; donations came pouring in. Approximately, $1,800 was raised and sent to Pastor Eladio Rojas in Chile to help alleviate the suffering of many of the race track families that had been hit so hard.

HOW YOU CAN HELP - BECOME AN RTCA SPONSOR!

2014 TCA GRANTEE

We are honored to be a 2014 Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) Grantee! A huge heartfelt thank you to Darley for their desig-nation to RTCA during the 2014 Stallion Season Auction. This grant will enable us to provide more support to our Chaplains in their 24/7 ministry at the race tracks, training centers and horse farms. This includes religious support, counseling, food and clothing, recreation services, health ser-vices and educational workshops and more! www.tca.org

ECFA ACCREDITATION

RTCA is now a ECFA Accredited organization! Founded in 1979, ECFA provides accreditation to leading Christian nonprofit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with established standards for financial accountability, fundraising and board governance. www.ecfa.org

CANADIAN AFFILIATION

The Standardbred Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada became an affiliated Council in April 2014. A warm welcome to Chaplain Ken Carter, the Council and Volunteers. www.srtchaplaincyofcanada.com

tracks where RTCA ministers. (OCTOBER 31, 2014)

Each of our three annual fundraising events helps provide critical resources to support chaplaincies throughout the United States. Becoming a “Sponsor” is easy… simply indicate on your check which event you would like to support and 100% of your donation will be dedicated to that event. You can choose to be a one time sponsor or pledge to become an annual partner! Hosting fundraising events provides wonderful opportunities not only to supplement tight budgets, but to share the good news of how God is using the ministry of RTCA. Don’t miss your blessing… get involved today!

Chaplain School

RTCA Chaplains have a grueling 24/7 schedule. It’s easy to burn-out or feel overwhelmed when striving to meet the inherit demands of ministry. The Chaplain School is an opportunity to bring them together for a time of encouragement, learning from shared experiences, professional training/development, and fellowship.

(APRIL 9-12, 2015)

INTEGRITY & STEWARDSHIP

Celebrating Thankfulness A very heart felt “THANK-YOU” to all our donors… past, present and hopefully future! This

non-profit ministry would not be possible without YOU. Your donation is important to us and no donation is considered to be too small or insignificant. Your generous support as well as your faithful

prayers for God’s guidance and blessing upon this ministry is much needed and appreciated!

Local Opportunities Local chaplaincies also host their own fundraisers. Contact the track nearest you to find out more about possible opportunities to become a Sponsor or Volunteer!

While the twice named horse of the year Wise Dan may have come to mind when you first read this title, I actually want to introduce you to, or perhaps reacquaint you with, the original Wise Dan or Daniel from the Old Testament of the Bible. When life takes a turn for the worst, when the unthinkable happens… God is with us. Daniel, even as a young man in captivity, never gave up on his relationship with God. And God blessed him for his faithfulness. Be wise like Daniel and cultivate your relationship with God. Read the book of Daniel and see for yourself the wisdom of a righteous man. Chaplain Craig Wiley, Executive Director

DANIEL 12:3 “

“Bringing to the race track community for over 42 years” hope

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those

who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
