V2.70 FSW-K18: Using “I/Q Average Count” softkey from the “Sweep” menu sometimes got the I/Q averaging into an inconsistent state. This issue is solved.

V2.70 FSW-K18: FSW-K18: It was not possible to train the FSW-K18 equalizer based on I/Q averaged data. Even when I/Q averaging was activated, the equalizer training was done only on the I/Q data of one I/Q recording. This issue is solved.

V2.50 FSW-K95: Fixed an issue that caused the Gain Imbalance result in the Result Summary to be incorrect when only a single PPDU was selected.

V2.70 FSW-K100/101/104/105: Fixed a firmware lock up which sometimes happened by switching between uplink- and downlink mode

V1.50 FSW-K100/104: Reading out the results by SCPI for more than one TX channel was not supported in ACLR measurement as the command

CALCulate1:MARKer1:FUNCtion:POWer1:RESult? MCACpower was

not supported. This issue is solved.

V2.70 FSW-K101/105: In case of EVM measurements with 2 component carriers, frequencies above 26.4 GHz were not accepted. This issue is solved.

Improvements of Firmware V2.71

Since Function

V2.70 Entering an option key code manually lead to a lock up of the firmware. Nevertheless the key code was working fine after a reboot. This issue is solved.

V2.70 FSW85 & FSW-B2000: For frequencies above 43 GHz the signal level may disappear. This issue is solved.

V2.70 FSW-K18: Pressing softkey "Update DPD Tables on Generator" directly after starting the application may no longer lead to a lock up of the instrument.

V1.21 FSW-K30: SCPI command STAT:QUES:CORR? returned 1 instead of 0 after calibration.

This issue is solved.

V2.71 FSW-K106: Improved the multi carrier filter which results in lower EVM values for multi carrier signals with 300 kHz carrier spacing.

V2.60 FSW-K192: The time stamp in PLC Messages was not correctly decoded. This issue is solved.

V2.60 FSW-K193: Synchronous Band Power, power units dBmV & dBuV are supported.

1.4 Known Issues

The following table lists the known issues and indicates since which version the issue

could be observed:

since Function

V1.81 If the additional software R&S DigIConf should be installed directly on the FSW, please use the version V03.01.009.30.Build220 SP1 or newer (Beta available upon request) older version may have data transfer problems or show white screens. The R&S DigIConf software might prevent windows to shut down occasionally. If this happens, please select "Force shut down" and confirm.

V1.80 FSW-B160R: No full support of trigger outputs. "Device Triggered" mode for "Frequency Mask Trigger" is available for trigger output 3 only.

V1.90 FSW-B160R: Auto Adjust functions are not available in MSRT mode.

V2.40 FSW-B160R/B512R: Kaiser window not supported. If selected a Blackmann Harris window is applied.

V2.80 FSW-B512R: Attenuation occurs further than 240MHz away from the center frequency in replay zoom.

V2.40 FSW-B512R: For some resolution bandwidths a single sweep causes artefacts in the spectrum that are caused by the instrument itself.

V2.20 FSW-B2000: In some situation after recalling a file with active B2000 configuration the connection to the R&S RTO is not established. Workaround: After the recall switching the B2000 state off and on again should solve the problem.

V2.80 FSW-K6: Segmented capture with FSW-B512R can produce incorrect segment lengths.

V2.40 FSW-K6: The user can set a larger amount of segment data than is actually possible with certain RTO configurations (using FSW-B2000). In this case the lower number of available segments will be analyzed and a warning will appear in the status bar.

V2.20 FSW-K6: The “view” trace behaves like a “clear write” trace.

V1.41 FSW-K6: After aborting a measurement via SCPI (:ABORt) the status bar still shows

"Measuring...".

V1.41 FSW-K6: The following commands are not available:

[SENSe:]FREQuency:CENTer:STEP

[SENSe:]FREQuency:CENTer:STEP

V1.51 FSW-K6: After recalling a Pulse channel which was saved after a RUN SINGLE operation, the RUN SINGLE button is lit but no measurement is running.

V1.60 FSW-K10: Cumulating of Modulation Spectrum limits of carriers of a multicarrier BTS not supported for frequency offsets < 1.8 MHz of the outmost carrier.

V2.90 FSW-K18: Markers are not available for Parameter Sweep measurements.

V2.80 FSW-K18: Occasionally the warning “Press Update DPD to get valid DPD data” is displayed even though no DPD is active or Direct DPD is active.

V2.70 FSW-K18: Pressing softkey "Update DPD Tables on Generator" directly after starting the application may lead to a lock up of the instrument.

V2.70 FSW-K18: The “Input / Output” dialog occasionally is too high to fit into the FSW screen.

V2.60 FSW-K60: Adding a marker to the spectrum resets selected frame in the spectrogram.

V2.50SP2 FSW-K60: Trace statistics in hop or chirp time domain displays are cleared on every sweep

V2.50 FSW-K60: Normal marker is synced across region and hop/chirp, but hop/chirp spectrum does not update if you drag a marker on the region spectrogram (and vice versa).

V2.40 FSW-K60: The trace statistics modes "all hops" or "all chirps" will also apply min/max statistics to ClearWrite traces in hop or chirp time domain displays.

V2.70 FSW-K70: [SENSe:]DDEMod:SEARch:MBURst:STARt:SAMPles?,

CALCulate<n>:MSRA:WINDow<n>:IVAL? and the displayed analysis range in

the MSRA only work reliably for capture lengths <= 256 000 Samples

V2.60 FSW-K70: In remote mode, if the capture buffer length exceeds 64 000 symbols and if the

command SENSE:DDEMOD:SEARCH:MBURST:CALC is sent right after the finished

measurement, occasionally the trace in the Mag(Capture Buffer) display is not visible.

since Function Workaround: Send refresh command (INIT:REFM) and re-send

SENSE:DDEMOD:SEARCH:MBURST:CALC command.

V2.80 FSW-K91N: In cases when statistic and time tracking is used, the message “No PPDU of desired type to analyze!” might occur.

V2.80 FSW-K91AX: Occasionally scalar results display ‘---‘ (nan).

V2.60 FSW-K91N: For specific 802.11n antenna 2,3,.. signals with cyclic shift delay the EVM might drop by approx 1dB.

V2.60 FSW-K91AX HE Trigger-based PPDU analysis: In some cases the auto bandwidth detection might fail. A work around it to set the bandwidth of the signal to be measured manually.

FSW-K91AX HE Trigger-based PPDU analysis: For 40MHz signals with short GI/HE-LTF size, the auto detection might fail. A work around it to set the GI/HE-LTF size of the signal to be measured manually.

FSW-K91AX HE MU PPDU: Only manual PPDU Configuration is supported

FSW-K91AX Ext Range SU PPDU: Only RU242 size is supported. No MIMO is supported.

V2.50 FSW-K91/192/K193: In some cases (using FSW-B512) auto level might not produce optimal results. Manual adjustments of the amplitude settings may be required in these cases.

V2.00 FSW-K91: Please use not more than three FSW-K91 channels - at maximum capture time - to ensure that the memory of the application is not exceeded.

V1.90 FSW-K91: When measuring MIMO and recalling a save set containing the same IP-addresses of the connected devices the measurement will stop working. Please delete the shutdown file 'C:\R_S\Instr\results\Shutdown.dfl' and power cycle the FSW on the rear main switch.

V1.42 FSW-K91, -K91n, -K91ac: In case the instrument is waiting for a trigger this message is not displayed in the status bar.

V2.90 FSW-K95: When loading an I/Q file, an incorrect warning is displayed occasionally. The warning states that the sample rate of the file was different from the sample rate of the application even though the sample rate of the file is equal to the application sample rate. Changing the sample rate hence and forth makes the message disappear.

1.5 Changing of solid state disks between different types of

CPU boards

For the FSW spectrum analyzer different CPU boards are in use: IPC10 with order no.

1206.0223 and IPC11 with order no. 1206.3216.

If the solid state disk is exchanged between FSWs with different types of CPU boards

the screen resolution is only 800x600 and a "Drive Access Error" will be displayed from

the firmware. Please switch off the device and change back to the solid stated drive

which fits to the CPU board. The device will boot as usual.

1.6 “Missing smartcard” message

For FSW spectrum analyzer produced July 2017 or later the message “Missing

smartcard or smartcard not initialized” may appear after starting the device.

This only happens if a firmware below V2.60 is used. Either because a downgrade to a

version below V2.60 had been performed, or the solid state drive was exchanged with

a version below V2.60.

Solution: Please install firmware V2.60 or higher. The device will boot as usual.
