COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. This competition is open to everyone except directors, members, partners, employees, agents and
consultants of the SABC and/or the competition promoters, and/or their spouses, life partners, parents,
children, brothers, sisters, business partners or associates.
2. The competition runs from 3 August 2020 until midnight 31 August 2020. Votes/entries received after this
date/time will not be considered.
3. Votes that come in after the lines have been closed will not be counted, however calls/SMS received after
this time will still be charged.
4. Calls charged at 50c per 20 seconds, Unlimited votes per day. Any additional SMS votes received from a
single MSISDN will be discarded.
5. The result of the vote will be established from all votes received by the producer of the Programme at
the time when the result is calculated, after the lines have closed. Please note that votes which have not
been received by the producer of the Programme at the time when the result is calculated will not be
counted but may still be charged.
6. Winner of the competition prize only will be contacted by SABC and/or the competition promoters.
7. SABC and Royalty Soapie Awards accepts no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of
any communication network or any late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, incorrectly submitted, delayed,
illegible or corrupted entries. SABC and Royalty Soapie Awards are not liable for any costs incurred,
responses received or any other consequences of user error.
8. Prize not claimed within 5 days prior to the awards date recording being 5 September 2020 will be
forfeited and disposed of in the discretion of SABC and/or the competition promoter.
9. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. SABC will not be held
responsible for any disputes arising from the competition or prize awards.
10. Non-cash prizes are not transferable and cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash.
11. Winner will be required to produce a valid identity document to claim a prize.
12. Prize excludes meals, accommodation, travel & flights, to Johannesburg.
13. By entering the competition by means of a mobile phone, the entrant gives permission to receive SMS
marketing communication in future.
14. Winners may be required to appear on SABC Television or Radio, or in printed publications.
15. Winner uses prizes at own risk. SABC, Royalty Soapie Awards shall not be liable for any loss (including,
without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or
sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's negligence) in connection with this
competition or accepting or using the prize/s.
16. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them when entering.
17. SABC reserves the right to cancel, modify or amend the competition at any time, if deemed necessary in
its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
