Math Saxon Grade 1 Math
The hands-on approach of Saxon Math is used to gently
introduce new concepts in small increments over the
entire year. Each day includes a hands-on lesson,
as well as a guided lesson with a worksheet.
The program includes Morning Meeting, written
practice, fast practice, homework, work with
manipulatives, and weekly assessments (written & oral).
Language Arts
Each week we focus on a different leLer, in order to help us with our handwri1ng, phonemic awareness, sight words, decodable words, fluency, and wri1ng. Each leLer is a character with a unique personality, a song, a read-‐aloud book, a big book, and many interac1ve ac1vi1es to help create a more direct connec1on between the leLer and its sound. For those of us who are advanced, a more challenging form of the LeLer People is given which develops our reading, wri1ng, and language arts skills.
