He or she must be passionate about making memorable experiences and always views their work in a most positive fashion. Royal Poinciana is a premier country club that enjoys a healthy wait list to become a Member. The 75,000 square foot Clubhouse offers the Membership a full country club facility and includes eight dining rooms, two dance floors and a bandstand, two cocktail areas, two living rooms, a world class kitchen, men’s and ladies locker room facilities, tennis and golf pro shops and administrative offices. The Clubhouse and its amenities are available exclusively for the enjoyment of RP Members and their guests. The Club also features two Art Hills designed golf courses consisting of 360 acres which is also an Audubon Sanctuary for over 40 species of birds and other wild animals including alligators. RP also features nine hydro grid soft tennis courts and a contoured heated swimming pool which provides a lovely setting for lunch or dinner functions. The Club is open year round but is highly seasonal as a vast majority of the Membership spends their summer months up north. Food and Beverage sales exceed three million dollars in basically an eight month period. Royal Poinciana Golf Club employs over 170 employees in high season. JOB DESCRIPTION: Promotes the club’s dining facilities for private banquet, a la carte and other social member- related activities. Organizes, plans and manages Membership private parties and social events. Actively participates, contributes, supports and follows-up on all Social Committee events and activities. Participates in Social Committee meetings and provides assistance to the Chair and hosts of all events. Works with the Member Communications Administrator on communications, programs and enhancements to the Membership. Manages the Receptionist and Reservationists to ensure all reservations are processed correctly and are on the website. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO Communication of proper event information to all key personnel, including timely final counts of events and proper billing information to the accounting office. Transparency is paramount. Assists Members in arranging banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances and other social events while ensuring that excellent services are provided; Ensures that all parties adhere to the club private party rules and general club rules. Attends the social committee meetings and administers all social event details with the event hosts. Creates a budget report following all club social events and submits such to the General Manager and Social Chairman. Provides Member tours and offers suggestions in efforts to sell the merits of the club’s facilities for the occasion being planned. Works with Executive Chef on pricing for catered events while utilizing approved guidelines for cost of goods sold. Submits cost sheets and final catered party income statement to the Assistant Controller and General Manager. Suggests, coordinates and helps Members plan menu with the Executive Chef and/or other culinary personnel. Designs and prints table assignment cards, place cards and menus as needed. Reports any repairs needed in clubhouse area to Facilities Manager Arranges for delivery of any equipment or items ordered by Member and for the charging of such.

• Inspects finished arrangements for private and social events and will be present to oversee the actual

service and greeting of guests.

• Assists in all a la carte functions especially in the greeting and seating process.

• Checks special party order with room set-up, and will help supervise service personnel.

• Designs floor plans, seating lists and special menus for private parties and important club events

• Handles member complaints and concerns in an efficient manner and communicates such to the General

Manager.

• Helps develop catering and clubhouse dining sales budgets.

• Transmits banquet invoicing to the accounting department for each event.

• Accumulates and transmits monthly Private Party cover counts and revenues to General Manager.

• Manages all aspects of front desk operations including reception and website reservations, ensuring that

reservations are processed correctly and are entered into the website on a timely basis.

• Coordinates with Member Communications Administrator on matters pertaining to Member communications.

• Coordinates events with the valet parking contractor.

• Attends Food & Beverage and Social Committee meetings as required by the General Manager.

• Provides counsel and advice to all direct managers and staff and conducts personnel evaluation sessions

as outlined in the employee handbook.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises the Head Receptionist and Part-time Reservationists. Interacts with Executives and

Department Managers to provide accurate and timely information in a professional manner. Carries out

supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities

include interviewing, hiring and training, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining

employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provides technical, operational and safety training

for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe

working conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS Has a fundamental understanding of what constitutes a “premier Club experience,” and the proven ability to execute to that level.

Have valid CPR Certification or will obtain within six months of employment.

Have a valid Florida driver’s license.

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of five years’ experience in a high end quality club and/or a college education is preferred.

Understanding or exposure to concepts affiliated with all aspects of Food and Beverage is required. This includes budgeting, menu creation and superior Services.

Must have experience with the Clubs POS system and/or be able to learn new computer requirements.
