YOKOSUKA, Japan (October 18, 2017) – The Valiant-class yard tugboat Seminole (YT 805) assists the Royal Canadian Navy Submarine HMCS Chicoutimi (SSK 879) as it pulls into Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka for a port visit. Take a free ride on the Yokosuka Circle Bus and visit several places including Yokosuka Port Market, Kurihama Shopping Street, Kannonzaki Nature Museum, the Uraga area and more. COMMENT: Do not turn o� the A/C until the temperature hits below 60 degrees. The towers get too hot and not everyone likes to open their windows due to bugs and spiders getting in. Recommend keeping the A/C running until mid-November.

The A/C shut o� time was determined using the forecasted average outdoor temperature of 63 degrees Fahrenheit and trending colder. If

Halloween celebrations will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 on main base and Ikego Housing areas. MLC/IHA/HPT personnel will be able to escort up to six guests on base for the event. MLC/IHA/HPT guest passes can be found at https://www.cnic.navy.mil/regions/cnrj/installations/cfa_yokosuka.html. Deadline for MLC/IHA/HPT guest pass submissions to the Yokosuka Industrial Security O� ce (ISO) is Oct. 23. Guest Pass procedures for SOFA ID card holders remains the same. Commissary Parking Lot:Will experience phased closures until Dec. 9 for repaving and repainting.

Main Gate Area: Partial road closure of egress lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Oct. 31 to replace water pipes.

Closures by Yokosuka Mini-Mart:NEX Autoport parking lot closure in phases until Dec. 1.

Womble Gate Area:Entry road adjacent to sidewalk of Nimitz Blvd. will be closed from9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 to Nov. 17 for fence installation and repainting tra� c markings.

Purdy Fitness Center Parking Lot:Will be closed on Oct 20 in support of the Navy Ball.

Hot water will be interrupted on Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to repair a utility line. Residents may experience rusty water when hot water is restored. Please run your water until it becomes clear. For questions, call 243-9008.
