Chapter 1: Introduction

Thank you for choosing the W330R Wireless-N BroadbandRouter. W330R utilizes advanced MIMO technology andincreases over 8 times transmission range of ordinary802.11g products. Compatible with IEEE802.11n (Draft 2.0)and IEEE802.11g/b standards, it can provide up to 300Mbps

stable transmission rate. Additionally, it integrates router,wireless access point, four-port Gigabit switch and firewall inone. In addition, its extraordinary intelligent software, SetupWizard, makes the devices installation more convenient.

It supports WDS (Wireless Distribution System) function forrepeating and amplifying the signals to extend the wirelessnetwork coverage. Besides, it can disable SSID broadcastmanually. WPS (PBC and PIN) encryption method, port filterand MAC address filter can protect your network frommalicious attack. W330R can be managed throughlocal/remote Web management interface anywhere.Moreover, the WMM function can make your voice and video

Or select Use thefollowing IP address and enter the IP address,Subnet mask, Defaultgateway as shown right.Of course, you need toinput the DNS serveraddress provided by yourISP. Otherwise, you canuse the Routers defaultgateway as the DNS proxyserver. Click OK to savethe configurations.

How to Check the Network Connection

Select Start Programs Accessories Command Prompt .

Input the ping192.168.0.1 and pressEnter . If the screendisplays as the right figure,it means your PC isconnected to your routersuccessfully.

If not, please make surethe hardware installation

and network adapter areOK. After all preparationsare made, please proceedto Chapter 4 for more andadvanced configuration.

Chapter 4 Basic Configurations

This section is to show you how to configure your newWireless-N Broadband Router through the Web-basedConfiguration Utility.

How to Access the Web-based Configuration

Utility

To access the RoutersWeb-based Utility, launch aweb browser such asInternet Explorer or Firefoxand enter the Routersdefault IP address,http://192.168.0.1. PressEnter .

Please input the admin inboth User Name andPassword. Click OK .

Setup Wizard

Here is the Welcome toSetup Wizard forconfiguring your Routerquickly. Click Next .

In this screen, select one

mode of your Internetconnection you use. If youare not clear, press theDetect button or contactyour Internet ServiceProvider, and click Next .

Enter the Account andPassword provided byyour ISP, and clickNext .

Chapter 5: Advanced Settings

This section is to conduct the advanced configurations for theRouter, including LAN Settings, WAN settings, MAC AddressClone and DNS Settings.

LAN Settings

MAC Address: TheRouters physical MACaddress as seen on yourlocal network, which isunchangeable.

IP Address: The Routers

LAN IP address (not yourPCs IP address). Onceyou modify the IPaddress, you need toremember it for theWeb-based Utility loginnext time. 192.168.0.1 isthe default value.

Subnet Mask: Its shownthe Routers subnet maskfor measurement of thenetwork size. 255.255.

255.0 is the default value.

WAN SettingsPPPoE

Connection Mode: Showyour current connectionmode.

Account: Enter themprovided by your ISP.

Password: Enter themprovided by yourISP.

MTU: Maximum Transmission Unit. It is thesize of largest datagram

that can be sent over anetwork. The default valueis 1492. Do NOT modify itunless necessary.

Service Name: It isdefined as a set of

characteristics that areapplied to a PPPoEconnection. Enter it if provided. Do NOT modifyit unless necessary.

AC Name: Enter it if

ConnectAutomatical: Connect automatically to theInternet after rebooting thesystem or connection

failure.

Connect Manually:

Connect to the Internet bythe user manually.

Re-establish yourconnection to the Internetafter the specific time(MaxIdle Time). Zero meansyour Internet connection atall time. Otherwise, enterthe minutes to be elapsedbefore you want todisconnect the Internetaccess.

Connect on Fixed Time:

Chapter 6: Wireless Settings

This section mainly deals with the wireless settings, includingBasic Settings, Security Setting, Access Control andAdvanced Settings.

Wireless Mode

AP Mode: router servesas an access point in thismode to be connected.

The work stations aroundwill be connected withrouter by SSID to sharethe Internet resources. Toconfigure the AP mode,open the Basic Settingand Security Settingwindows in the WirelessSetting folder.

Station Mode: In thismode, router is used as awork station to beconnected with an AP byscanning the AP's SSIDand provides the security

authentication. Generallyspeaking, AP mode ispassive to be connectedwith work station, butStation mode always takesthe initiative in connectingwith AP.

SSID: SSID is the uniqueID name of access point.

The wireless work stationmust keep the same SSIDname with the AP's forconnections. By enablingOpen Scanning button,the device can searchavailable APs.

MAC: To connect certainAP, you need to know theAP's MAC address. By

enabling Open Scanningbutton to find out theavailable APs MACaddress.

Channel: You can use the

channel same as the AP.

Network Mode: Supports802.11b/g mixed, 802.11b,802.11g and 802.11b/g/nmixed modes.

Main SSID: Main ServiceSet Identifier. Its the"name" of your wirelessnetwork.

Broadcast (SSID): Select

BSSID: It is a 48bit identity

Wireless Security Settings

This page is to configure the wireless security of your Router.Six wireless security modes, WEP, WPA-Personal,WPA2-Personal, WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise andRADIUS, are supported. If you do not want to use wirelesssecurity, select Disable from the drop-down menu.

1. Mixed WEP

WEP(Wired EquivalentPrivacy)a basic encryptionmethod, usually encryptswireless data using aseries of digital keys (64bits or 128 bits in length).

By using the same keyson each of your wirelessnetwork devices, you canprevent unauthorizedwireless devices frommonitoring yourtransmissions or usingyour wireless resources.

SSID Choice: SelectSSID to be configuredsecurity. The devicesupports to configure

different security classesbetween the main SSIDand the subordinate SSID. Security Mode: Thereare several differentsecurity modes; you

Key Renewal Interval:

Enter the key renewalperiod. It is to tell theRouter how often tochange the keys.

3.WPA2-PersonalWPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected

Access version 2) , It'smore secure than WiredEquivalent Privacy (WEP)and easy to set up.

WPA Algorithms: Selectkey Algorithms such as

Pass Phrase: Enter thekey which must have

8-63 ASCII characters.

Key Renewal Interval: Enter the key renewalperiod. It is to tell theRouter how often tochange the keys.

4. WPA-Enterprise

This Authenticationprotocol based onRADIUS server. Thissecurity mode is used

Shared key: The

5. WPA2-Enterprise

This security mode is alsoused when a RADIUSserver is connected to theRouter.

Shared key: The encryptionkey that the router isauthenticated through

6. 802.1X

This security mode is usedwhen a RADIUS server isconnected to the Router.802.1x, a kind of Port-basedauthentication protocol, isan authentication type and

strategy for users. The portcan be either a physic portor logic port (such asVLAN). For wireless LANusers, a port is just achannel. The final purposeof 802.11x authentication isto check if the port can beused. If the port isauthenticated successfully,you can open this port whichallows all the messages topass. If the port isnt

authenticated successfully,you can keep this portdisable which just allows802.1x authenticationprotocol message to pass.

WPS Mode: Supports twoways to configure WPSsettings:PBC (Push-ButtonConfiguration) and PINcode.

PBC: Select the PBC orpress the WPS button onthe panel of the Router(Press the button for onesecond and WPS indicatorwill be blinking for 2minutes, which means theWPS is enabled. Duringthe blinking time, you canenable another Router toimplement the WPS/PBCnegotiation between them.

At present, the WPS onlysupport one client access.

WDS Settings

In this mode, you canexpand the scope of network by combining upto four other access pointstogether, and everyaccess point can still

accept wireless clients.

Lazy Mode: You needconfigure the routersBSSID into anotherdevice, not need inputanother routers BSSID init, and then connecttogether automatically.

Bridge Mode: You canwirelessly connect two ormore wired networks viathis mode. In this mode,

you need to add theWireless MAC address of the connecting device intothe Router's AP MACaddress table or selectone from the scanningtable. At the same time,

the connecting deviceshould be in Lazy,Repeater or Bridge mode. Repeater Mode: You canselect the mode to extendthe distance between the

two WLAN devices.Functioning as a WDSrepeater, the W330Rconnects to both a clientcard as an AP and toanother AP. In typicalrepeater applications, APs

connecting to other APsequipped with WDSfunctionality must alsosupport WDS. In thismode, you need to add theMAC address of theconnecting device into the

Advanced Wireless Settings

This section is to configurethe advanced wirelesssetting of the Router,including the RadioPreamble, 802.11g/n Rate,Fragmentation Threshold,RTS Threshold , BeaconPeriod and DTIM Interval.

BG protection Mode: Autoby default. You can selectOn or Off.

Basic Data Rates: Fordifferent requirement, youcan select one of thesuitable Basic Data Rates.Here, default value is(1-2-5.5.-11Mbps). Beacon Interval: Set thebeacon interval of wirelessradio. Do not modify defaultvalue if you dont knowwhat it is, default value is100.

Fragment Threshold: Donot modify default value if you dont know what it is,default value is 2346.

RTS Threshold : Set theRTS threshold of wirelessradio. Do not modify defaultvalue if you dont knowwhat it is, default value is2347.

TX Power: You can set theoutput power of wirelessradio. Unless youre usingthis wireless router in areally big space, you maynot have to set outputpower to 100%. This willenhance security (malicious/ unknown users in distance

Chapter 7: DHCP Server

DHCP (Dynamic HostControl Protocol) is toassign an IP address to thecomputers on the LAN/private network. When youenable the DHCP Server,
