DESCRIPTION
Another approach for measuring the connectivity of nodes is Route Factor or Tortuosity Ratio. With the advancement in such studies several indices have been evolved to measure the efficiency of networks either in their entirety or particular components of them. To obtain the route factor in the given network two sets of aggregate travel distances are computed for each node, one based on actual route distance and the other on straight line distance. The ratio between the two values indicate whether the individual node may be reached by more or less devious routes.
