#NPLNSWCLUB WELCOME
Welcome to Belmore Sports Ground for our Round 6 fixture against Blacktown
City FC.
Our First Grade squad has won its last 3 League matches in succession and we looking to continue to build on this early season momentum as we move into three home games in a row. Our Under 18 and 20 squads despite strong efforts were unable to come away with points against Marconi and will be looking to regain momentum this weekend.
Our Men’s Youth matches last weekend all experienced strong victories and against Parramatta FC and this weekend take on local rivals St George FC. Meanwhile our Women’s program had a mixed day against Apia, winning Under 14 and 15’s, drawing first grade and losing Reserve Grade and Under 17s. This weekend they look to bounce back against Central Coast Mariners FC at Peter Moore.
Our Under 11 Boy’s and Under 12 and 13 Girl’s SAP squads participated in the FNSW gala day last weekend, while our remaining teams were in action against Wollongong and APIA respectively. This weekend the boys are in action against Eastern Suburbs FA and the girls Football South Coast.
On Monday, our Under 12 and 14 squads returned from a Football trip of a lifetime, were both teams performed excellently in the MIC Cup in Spain. Our Under 14 squad drew FC Porto in the round of 16 after topping
their group only to go down 3 nil, while our Under 12 squad made it to the semi-final of the consolation draw after narrowly missing progression to the elimination stage from their group. Both squads then moved to Barcelona and then onto Germany to be hosted by FC Schalke 04. Both squads performed extremely well throughout the training camp and friendly matches. Both squads and coaches received unprecedented access to a variety of programs and offerings made possible for Sydney Olympic FC squads on the back of the Australian based ORCA Enviro Systems sponsorship and informal partnership with leading European football club, Schalke 04. This trip and experience will never be forgotten by all involved and the benefits are something to look forward to by all aspiring players at our club.
We would like to welcome all our sponsors, season pass holders and supporters today and thank them for their ongoing support. A club cannot exist without these people and we look forward to working with you to continue the growth of our Club both this season and into the future. As I said last week, lets grow the crowd together, we need to all play our part and get in touch with your networks of friends and family to turn up, show your support and watch this squad and our great Club in action.

NPLNSW.COM.AU 1ST GRADE MATCH PREVIEW
Sydney Olympic has quietly emerged as a National Premier Leagues NSW Premiership
contender during the opening weeks of the campaign but a clash against Blacktown City on Sunday afternoon could prove a true litmus test of their winning credentials.
Spanish striker Alejandro Sanchez has given the Abbas Saad coached side a truly dangerous front man and combined with the talented playmaking skills of Max Burgess makes Olympic a side which will challenge opposition defences.
Experienced shot stopper Paul Henderson has maintained his usual high standards this season behind a rapidly improving defensive unit.
Last week was a warning for their opponents Blacktown who conceded an added time goal which forced them to settle for a 1-1 draw with Manly United.
It was the first goal Blacktown had conceded all season underpinning their quality at both ends of the park.
Much is spoken about Blacktown’s incredible talent in attack, but their often overlooked defence, marshalled by former Olympic man Yianni Spyrakis who will face his former side for the first time this week, which has been the secret formula to their success.
The Mark Crittenden coached side will be disappointed with their performance last week which could mean a huge showing on the road at Belmore.
This is sure to be one of the matches of the round and could have major implications on the premiership race.

#NPLNSWMATCH REVIEWSMarconi Stallions 0 – Sydney Olympic FC 2 at Marconi Stadium
Sydney Olympic’s has notched their fourth straight win after defeating Marconi Stallions 2-0 at Marconi Stadium on Saturday.
It wasn’t Marconi’s night with injuries and missed chances costing the Stallions the game in what ended with the exact same scoreline as the famous 1990 NSL Grand Final between these two great clubs.
Goals to Alejandro Sanchez-Lopez and Jason Madonis were the difference as Olympic’s impressive run of form continued.
The defeat was Marconi’s second of the week with the newly promoted side desperate to break free of their early season struggles.
Blacktown City FC 1 – Manly United 1 at Lily Homes Stadium
Dylan Macallister rescued a point for Manly United in their round five clash with Blacktown City after striking an injury-time equalizer to claim a 1-1 draw at Lily’s Football Centre.
The veteran striker arrived off the bench midway through the second half and fired home a scrappy 91st minute effort to earn the reigning champions a valuable point away from home.
Blacktown looked set for their fourth win on the trot and fifth consecutive shutout after a brilliant first half opener from Mitch Mallia but were punished by Macallister at the death after failing to capitalize on a series of late chances.
As a result Mark Crittenden’s side lose hold of the early competition lead with Sydney Olympic and APIA Leichhardt Tigers registering victories over Marconi Stallions and Rockdale City Suns in Saturday night’s other fixtures.

U20’S MATCH PREVIEW
Blacktown City motored on to their third straight win thanks to a 2-1 victory over
Manly United last weekend and John Carnevale’s side are out to make it four when they take on Sydney Olympic in Belmore on Sunday.
Blacktown are beginning to look the part having conceded a solitary goal in their past three matches and offering attacking threats from all over the pitch – whether it be through wingbacks, wide attackers, midfield or up front where forward Lachlan Rose has scored in consecutive matches.
It’s a daunting visit for Olympic who currently reside at the bottom of the table after four matches played. The Blues have been held scoreless in three of their four matches and will need to muster their strongest showing of the season to prevent Blacktown from claiming another victory.
