CTP-DUMAG – Industrial Burners in Rotary Kiln for liquid or gaseous waste materials

For start-up of the plant, burners are fuelled with fuel gas or fuel oil or a combi-nation of both.Fuel gas or fuel oil are also employed as support fuel with low-caloric waste materials.

The burner houses the various burner lances needed for the combustion of liquid or gaseous waste materials.

For waste gases, off-gases or liquid waste, additional lances are attached to the front wall of the rotary kiln. These lances are integrated into the fittings of the cooling air or combustion air lances.

Rotary kilns are usually run above-stoichiometrically at temperatures of 1000 to 1100°C.To burn the additional materials in the burnt gas (halogenes etc), the post-com-bustion chamber runs at temperatures of 1200 – 1300°C with a time of exposure of 2 seconds.

An additional CTP-DUMAG burner is usually employed in the post combustion chamber.

In the post-combustion chamber’s burner, waste liquids or waste gases are burnt in combination with fuel gas or fuel oil.

The final product is always the same: Clean combustion!

CTP-DUMAG Advantage

Competent partner with decades of experience No flame holder plates at burner outlet thanks to highly turbulent ultrasonic nozzle or

especially developed gas lances – decreases contamination, maintenance rate, blackouts. No rotating parts in the hot combustion chamber Low combustion air pressure drop above the burner Controllable flame length and temperature distribution via burner swirl and controllable ultrasonic nozzle Newly developed ultrasonic atomizer nozzle with increased flame stability and increased control range Economic use of compressed air or steam as atomizer for fuel oil or liquid waste materials High availability

Lay-out of Burner Stone Angle and Position of the Flame

Laying out the burner, special regard has to be given to the posi-tion of the flame inside the rotary kiln. The front panel and the axis of the rotary kiln are positioned in a certain angle to one another. Additionally, the burners are positi-oned eccentrically. The flame is very long and must not touch the lining to avoid abrasion.DUMAG has developed a method to determine the perfect positi-on of the flame and thus the angle of the burner stone.
