I would like again to share with you my message during the anniversary, -- “It is an honor, a great pleasure and a privilege to welcome you all to this momentous occasion, the Golden Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Marikina.It is a great honor to have RIPR/PDGMustain Sjadzali to grace us in our Golden Celebration. This is truly a water-shed event, a historical turning point, a new defining moment in our existence as an organization for having sus-tained the drive, the momentum started 50 years ago inspired and guided by the Rotarian Spirit.

A good seed was planted in a fertile track of land consisting of benevolent hearts and humanitarian aspirations and dutifully cared for under the most auspicious circumstances. That seed has grown into a robust and strong tree and has been bearing good fruits. This is what we are celebrating today – 50 productive and fruit –bearing years as an attestation to the quality of efforts and generous intentions we have invested in our organization.

Let me then make use of this gathering as an opportunity to express my deep gratitude and to acknowledge the hard work of the Golden Anniversary Committee headed by Chairman PP Eric Ignacio to ensure the success of this gathering. Likewise, I want to convey my heartfelt gratefulness to my District Governor Marilou Co for her trust and confidence in bestowing upon us many opportunities to be able to assist others and for generously supporting us in such endeavors. Our appreciation goes as well to all the Rotarians and spouses, friends and guests for joining us in this memorable occasion. We are truly proud that you are around to witness this historic juncture in the continuing saga of the Rotary Club of Marikina.

Truth to tell, this is my 10th year as a member of this prestigious club. Back then, I didn’t know much about the Rotary Club but I have heard a lot of good things about it. When I finally decided to join Rotary ,it didn’t take long for me to feel the sense of belongingness among the members. I saw in the Rotary Club of Marikina the unselfish devotion in serving the least of our brethren, the underprivileged, the downtrodden and the marginalized members of our community.

Today I take pride in having been part of this club which, for half a century, has consistently delivered relevant community services and projects in line with Rotary’s Motto: SERVICE ABOVE SELF, thus gaining the respect and admiration of the community and paving the way for multiple awards and commendations. In all humility, let me cite some of our notable achievements

We have produced 3 outstanding District 3800 Governors PDG Arsenio “Ting “ Tanco, PDG Efren de Guzman and PDG Virgiliio “Jun” Farcon, Jr.

We have been one of the highest contributors to the Rotary Foundation in the district; We have a very high mem-bership retention, 72 members, 34 active Past Presidents, and 2 Charter Members, namely PDG Ting Tanco and

Landscape photography technique 07: tilt-shift landscapes Tilt-shift photography enables you to combine the sharpness of large lens apertures with the extensive depth of field you normally associate with small apertures.

This is achieved by using a tilt-shift lens, which can be both tilted (to control the plane of focus) and shifted (to correct any converging verticals).

However, by tilting the lens to give an ultra-shallow plane of focus and, you can make landscapes look like miniature models.

The most convincing tilt-shift landscapes combine an element of hardware (trains , boats, cars) and a raised shooting position to mimic the view of looking down at toys on a bedroom floor.

Tilt-shift lenses are expensive though, so why not create a fake tilt-shift miniature photo in Photoshop? The results can be just as effective.
