Beautification of overall site. Create strategic focal points to add interest,

character, and community identity. Create a cohesive community statement w/ use of

stone playing on the idea of “Stone Valley Road”. Reduce water use expenses w/ use of large areas of

river cobble instead of plants. Reduce maintenance expenses w/ use of large areas

of river cobble and mulch to cut back weeding, mowing, and spraying.

Community project participation; Rotary, MAC, Caltrans, Corporate & Individual sponsors.

Ideas to make site “sustainable” Reduce cost and consumption of resources such as

water, labor, etc. Reduce need for pesticides, herbicides, & fungicides. Possibly implement rainwater harvesting techniques

for storage of irrigation water. Install barn owl nesting houses to deter gopher &

ground squirrel damage. Possibly create “Bio-swales” for storm water run-off

purification.
