• Bus lanes converted into pedestrian space on north side and right turn lane onto Michigan Ave. on south side

•Bike lanes relocated to north side at sidewalk level – provides extra pedestrian capacity during events and eliminates bike-vehicle conflict

• Narrow underutilized concrete median expanded to allow landscaped refuge island at Michigan Ave.

• Markings will be done at night

• Capacity westbound unchanged, lengthened left turn lane and removed westbound nearside bus stop blocking right turn movement to northbound Michigan Ave.

• Narrowed median and used Park District land to continue off-street bike lanes

• Bike facility now links directly to Park District path to Museum Campus underpass

• Expand capacity of left turn lane onto southbound Michigan Ave.

• Eliminated eastbound lane to align with through lanes east and west, reducing weaving

Recent Traffic Concerns Roosevelt construction impacted traffic, less so after July but still occasional disruptions Recent events at the Museum Campus/Grant Park required street closures(e.g., Lollapalooza closed Balbo, Columbus, Congress, Wabash, & Harrison) Circle Interchange construction detours affecting area traffic patterns 2015 resurfacing projects in the area:

Signal timings at Roosevelt and Wabash intersection affected by construction; corrected in mid-August Transportation study for Museum Campus access improvements is on-going
