Description

Ronafix Colour Grout powder is a cement-based grouting compound for Ceramic Tiles, Homogeneous Tiles, Granite and Marble installed on walls and floors, both interior and exterior. A specially prepared powder which is designed to minimize efflorescence and when mixed with Ronafix T.S. or water provide a shrinkage-reduced and waterproof grout for joints between tiles.

Ronafix Colour Grout powder is avail-able in twenty different colours and is most suitable in joints from 3 mm to 15 mm wide. For joints width less than 3 mm, please consult with Ronacrete Technical Department for advice.

Specification ClauseThe Tile Grout shall be Ronafix Colour Grout by Ronacrete (Far East) Limited, tel. (852) 2865 5872. Apply in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

Technical Data

PackagingRonafix Colour Grout is supplied in 25 kg multiwall paper bags with plastic liner.

PreparationRemove all adhesive, oil, dust and other loose material from within the tile joints. Ensure that joints are clean and dry. Check colour code on packaging and colour of contents to ensure correct colour grout powder is used.

MixingPlace approximately 3.8 to 5 litres of clean, potable water into the mixing vessel. Slowly add the total contents of Ronafix Colour Grout Powder into the mixing vessel. Initially, mix continuously for at least 3 minutes using an electric drill with paddle, until all powder has been wetted out and a uniform homoge-neous paste is achieved. Allow the mixture to rest for at least 5 minutes and re-mix the material for another 1 minute before applying the colour grout mixture to the tile joints. The mixed colour grout should be kept in the mixing vessel and protected from direct sunlight. The mixed colour grout should be used within 2 hours of initial mixing.

InstallationApply the colour grout with a rubber squeegee or rubber trowel. Work it into the tile joints with a diagonal or circular motion to ensure that the joints are completely filled with colour grout. Remove excess grout from the surface of the tile as the work proceeds. When the film of grout on the tile face is drying, use a damp but not wet rubber sponge to wipe off the film.

Note

1) Staining of tiles, pavers, marble and stone may occur due to their nature. Confirm compatibility with a test area before grouting primary installation.

2) Standard Grade "Ronafix Colour Grout Powder" is not recommended for joint width below 3 mm.

3) Applications for continuous water immersion, we recommend "Ronafix T. S." be substituted for the potable water.

CoverageThe consumption rate of Ronafix Colour Grout powder on site will, amongst other things, be dependent upon site conditions and the skill of the labour.

The following formula may be used to calculate the mathematical consumption rate but does not allow for any wastage etc.,

We strongly recommend arranging site trials to determine the practical consumption rate on site and reference to our "Good Techniques for Ronafix Tile Grouting".

Shelf Life and StorageShelf life is 9 months. Store in a cool and dry conditions in the original and unopened packaging. Exposure to high humidity and high temperature may reduce the shelf life.

Health and SafetyNon-hazardous. Protective clothing such as goggles, overalls and gloves is recommended to prevent any effect from prolonged skin contact, inhalation or ingestion. Refer to Health and Safety Data Sheet.

填縫色粉可能對個別瓷磚、地磚、雲石及石材出現染色現象。請於施工前測試小面積以確定是否適合使用。

This colour chart can only be used as an approximate guide to appearance. The actual shade and texture will depend on the mixing and installation techniques used, site and application conditions, tile characteristics and other factors beyond the control of Ronacrete.

The application of a test area is recommended prior to primary installationto verify appearance and texture.

For best uniformity in colour and appearance, follow “Good Techniques for Ronafix Tile Grouting”. To avoid colour variation, use grouts with the same batch number.

Some tiles, pavers, marble and stone may be stained by colour grout. Confirm compatibility with a test area before grouting primary installation.
