Physics [how it works]

What you may not realize as you’re cruising down the track at 60 miles an hour is that the coaster has no engine. After the top of the first hill it has to complete the ride itself. The conversion of potential energy to kinetic energy is what drives the roller coaster, & all of the kinetic energy you need for the ride is present once the coaster descends the first hill…

Eye of the Storm

Our roller coaster’s name is Eye of the Storm. It begins by dropping a marble in a paper storm, then it goes down a track then into a big corkscrew. Then the marble falls into a track, takes a wide turn, & goes into a funnel Then drops into a track & takes another wide turn. Once again it goes on 2 tracks & takes a wide turn. Finally it goes on a track, takes a sharp turn, and drops into a funnel.
