Maths Using the pictures below (big and small presents) discuss the sizes of the presents. Can your child sort them into big and small presents.

Recap big and small and challenge your child to draw a big and small Christmas tree. Can you draw a Christmas tree that is in between these two sizes (a medium tree).

Hide the pictures below (numbered trees and baubles) around your house. Can your child find the numbers? Which numbers does your child recognise? Can your child find the number which is the same age as them?

Sing Christmas number songs so that your child practises saying number names in order. You can even use or make props to support your child with this if you want.

Today we are learning about verbs. A verb is an action (doing) word. Look at the photographs below and discuss what the people/ animals are doing, for example, eating.

Give your child some actions (verbs) to complete and see if the children can do them, for example, pretending to brush their hair or pretending to walk.

This will create a gloopy texture which you can then dye with food colouring or add Christmas scents like peppermint or cinnamon.Explore the gloop with your hands and implements such as spoons.
