Fall XC The fall Cross-Country season

has opened with another full ros-

ter for the ARROWS. Once

again, this popular and recognized

program has been filled to capaci-

ty by young athletes taking the

challenge to learn new running

skills and hone existing ones.

Many thanks to our coaches Sher-

ry Stick, Chad Epler, Becky

Rhodes, and Mindy Grosh

and all the parents and vol-

unteers who make this ex-

cellent program possible,

The team already has 4

meets under their belt and

will continue through No-

An ARROW Goes to Post-Season Track & Field Regionals!

P A G E 5 S E P T E M B E R 2 0 1 7

R O G U E R E C O R D

After a successful rookie season

with the ARROWS Braeden Dush-

kin choose to see just how far

he could go. Braeden Started

the season with a 3rd place in

Shot for 7-8 Male. With just

a simple suggestion from Coach

Fleming, Braeden went on to

win all 4 of the remaining track

meets he entered. Braeden also

went 3 for 3 on top of the podi-

um in 300g Turbo Javelin. Tak-

ing that success Braeden en-

tered the district competition

for AAU held in Baltimore

County. The streak continued

with 1st place finishes in both

the shot and javelin. Next stop

was the Regional competition at

Morgan State University.

The event was over two

days with Javelin the 1st and

Shot the 2nd. Day 1 was a

little tough as the nerves got

the best of Braeden. By far

the most amount of specta-

tors and throwers took its

toll and the size of facility

also was an intimidating fac-

tor. Braeden worked

through it making it passed

the cuts but couldn't pro-

duce a qualifying throw. Fin-

ishing 6th overall. Day 2

Brae woke with a renewed

energy and confidence. Shot

put took place inside the

MSU football stadium which

was quite the experience. Day 2 was

very successful despite an arm injury

with a 2nd place finish and a qualifying

spot for the Jr Olympics. Braeden said

the best part of the weekend was com-

peting with (not against) his friend Tyler

from the Wolfpack. Both boys had been

competing against each other finishing

1st and 2nd in 4 meets. The boys be-

came friends over the course of the

season and it really showed during the

event. Braeden did not attend the Jr

Olympics for shot but attended the

USA Triathlon Age Group National

Championship that same week Finishing

30th. Braeden is very much looking for-

ward to seeing his teammates again this

cross country season and takes tremen-

dous pride in being an ARROW.

First Ever F.A.R.T. Trail Run Fun On July 22, a great group of

folks gathered to run the trails

in Patapsco State Park in a or-

ganized half-marathon or what-

ever you wanted to do format.

It certainly met the objective

of just having fun and enjoying

the Park! Thanks to Chad for

putting this one together and

all the contributors who

helped with water and 1st Aid

support. A cool video of the

event can be found here
