Richard Rodgers
June 28, 1902-Dec. 30, 1979
Columbia University & the Julliard School
Collaborated with Lorenz Hart at the age of 16 on tunes such as “I’ll Take Manhattan,” “My Funny Valentine,” and “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.”
Rodgers & Hart wrote music and lyrics for 26 musicals.

July 12, 1895-August 23, 1960

Began as a stage manager, which developed his love for theatre.

Shirley Jones (Carousel, Oklahoma) was the first and only actor to be under contract to R&H
RR’s daughter and grandsons are composers.
